Gas coupe radiator
« on: June 23, 2012, 07:43:17 PM »
I have a question regarding gas coupe radiators. I want to use a crank-driven Pro Charger on a CGC. The blower will need to be mounted off the crank damper and will be forward of the stock radiator location by 6"-8". Can I tunnel the radiator for clearance or use two smaller rads on each side of the blower? Are there other options?

Sorry, but by your discription I'd say no. An opening in the radiator core or two smaller radiators defeats the purpose of the rule. Can you move the core forward 6"?
Otherwise it looks like Alt. class.

I doubt you can move the core forward and still be legit for Gas Coupe. The rule says the radiator must be " . . mounted in the original location as the OEM radiator . . "

Maybe there is some other option for mounting the blower elsewhere . . . or . . . can you move the engine back?  You are allowed an engine "setback" of 2% of the wheelbase.

What engine and chassis are you going to be running?

Yeh-I think the only option for using the Procharger is to convert to belt drive
