Hey Guys, as you all know most of everything you encounter in life these days is an uphill sh*t fight, especially when it comes to bureaucracy, and the things they deem to be important.  This thread has highlighted the sensitivities we have regarding these things.

I had thought from the onset that the compliance plate was no different to any other part of the vehicle, that there was no crime in reproducing it, and affixing it to the bike.

Thankfully Honda agree, and they are making a new custom period correct reproduction for this CB1100Rb for the sum of 350 dollars, which I think is very fair.  They are also issuing a letter that will allow my friend to register the bike while the plate has been made.

It won't be long before a law is passed to prevent anyone from doing anything, or at very least a tax, but until then we will have a period correct compliance plate for this lovely old bit of racing history.  When I put my head to sleep tonight, I'll do so with a tiny bit of elation, with the knowledge the world has not gone completely mad... yet.
