Guys, we were back on the salt for 2013 Speed week and ran several passes in the high 150's. Exit speed of 158. We could not run faster as we had oil pressure problems. The record of 140 still stands as we did not go into impound to try and set it. We needed track time so we went around and around testing and finding all the gremlins. One gremlin was a split block. Cast iron is not good enough for this sport, so for 2014 we are building a steel block. We will be back for 2014 along with around 14 other UK bikes.
PS, the blower failed in 2012 because of a design problem by us. If you have an intercooler, which we do, then you should not put fuel through it, if you have a screw blower, which we had, then you must put fuel through it else it over heats and seizes up. Guess what, it siezed up.
For 2013 we had a Rotrex C30-94 centrifial blower. It worked well enough. 30 psi at 6000rpm, we can rev to 8. Intercooler ice tank was increased in size from 1 gal in 2012 to 5 gal. We can get 20lb of ice in it. The Intercooler after the run is ice cold so it is working. Runs with and without it show a marked drop in power if you forget to turn the pumps on.
I am building a web site with the build from 2011 to date and will update it when I can. Currently there is only a holding page with a pic of the bike on the salt 2013. url]http://www.saltbike775.co.uk[/url]
I think with the bock and other work, it should be 1% Triumph.
