« on: April 25, 2012, 08:54:47 AM »
We have the tank mounted on the passanger side inside the car. What kind of shield do I need around it to protect the driver. Joe is on the road and cant talk and I cant find it in the rule book anywhere. He said I need one. Who has one and what diid you make it out of.

Not sure on the exact requirements for ECTA but when I was building SCCA and GrandAm cars they had to be boxed inside of a sheet metal enclosure and vented outside or into the engine compartment. We had a small access panel on top to be able to fill it and check the level. Also most of the box would come out of the way in a few seconds with DZUS button if we needed to get in there for anything.

We have it vented to the trunk which has a fire wall. I read the rule book 3 times and no info.

Just not that many dry sumps I guess?   On the truck we have ours in the bed but the bottom of it's enclosure is open. The tank vent is mounted on the outside of the enclosure which is still inside the covered bed.

Here is one I did on a corvette. That large black box is it....
