i emailed mr. eyres and the folks at poly form to find out if their 29 ford roadster race body is legal for scta or not ? any ideas? ? thanks mitchell

There are lots of those Poly Form bodies running in SCTA. Just be careful of the 33-34 roadster body, its a coupe cut down and the door widths are different between the coups and roadsters. When in doubt get it in writing from the powers, remember nobody will care if its legal till you set a record. Tony

that just means you wouldn't want to use the body on the street, ie very thin and usually not as nice, not as much structure, and no doors (usually). |

As a caution with any fiber glass body try to get the measurments of a steel body siting on an original frame for measurments. Guys can nitpick any aftermarket body but that is actually not the SCTA's intent. Many would just take the body out of the crating and put in on a frame. That's the start of the problem. Many come pinched in.
You need the measurments so it sits correctly. Doors widths, body widths behind the door, bottom and top, etc need to be in the correct proportion to an actually steel body even if they are not "EXACTY" the same. No one can tell 1/4" by sight but everyone can tell 2".
All the body revels must there and not ground off to "look good" (ask Murray and Alman on that one) and a 29 has lots of them............Good luck

And maybe address flush doors. Doesn't really matter now that a door is longer than stock -- if it's only indicated with a line. How 'bout hinges, too?
