Thanks for the lead on Duncan Oil. I got a barrel in Fri. I can't carry that much but will have 25 gal. plus the 8 gal in the fuel tank.
There are others needing this info.

                               Thank You,

Guys thinking of going thru Canada - another issue.  If you have a mutt (or a cat, I 'spose) you'll need a current shot record from an accredited vet clinic.  One of those things that most wouldn't think of (me included).

My daughter recently married a Canadian guy and moved there w/pets so she gave us the heads-up.  She also recommends a full-on passport.  You can apply for a "card" but it opens you to more scrutiny by the Canadian guards.  It's a bit more expensive to get the passport but then you have it if you want to go anywhere else.

You can run T/O (Time Only) and just run for licenses up to whatever speed you are tech'd up to and run anything in the tank.

Thanks MiltonP, thats what I was think'n cus Amy is only going for her D license,125-149mph, and for our first run with a new I purposely built it to 135 spec. No need to spend the cabbage if ya ain't got to. It's plenty safe, just not up to "over" 135 spec.

Saw this on the ECTA site:

"Event Fuel: All competitors must run event fuel. We will be using Rocket Brand Fuel."

What exactly does that mean? I hope it doesn't mean what it says?? Sorry if this has been covered, but I haven't been online much....

Maybe it was just updated, but this is what I see on the site:

Event Gas

We will be using Rocket Brand Gas.

100 Octane Unleaded

112 Octane ( if you ran 111 last year, it was really 112 )

114 Octane

118 Octane

So if you want to run in a fuel class, you can run what you like.

I am pretty sure T/O didn't going away with the move to Wilmington and is probably the way to go if you don't plan on running all out.  If you decide to go with a fuel (F) class make sure you read the rule book carefully as there are some differences on safety gear that I believe still apply even if you are only running pump gas.

It's even more fun when you cross the Canadian border on the way to Loring.

did you have issues at the border ? with gasoline or methanol ? what amount would cause a problem ?

we were thinking of traveling in  canada between niagara falls and the limestone (?) crossing for july lta.

thanks,
franey

anything else to be aware of ?

Make sure the fuel is in sealed and clearly labeled containers.  Nothing open.  Of course, this is only an issue if they ask.

Am I wrong or will the type of gas or fuel you are running never come up until you go to impound for a record?  Meaning you can run whatever you want if you aren't gonna go to impound.  For example when when licensing up, you can run non event fuel, then when you start making runs at the record you pump out the tank and use event gas.

Of course this weekend there will be alot of new records I suppose so you may want to run event fuel regardless.

IF you are running in a GAS class your tank has to be sealed prior to your run.  The gas vendor has been handling this and it's reasonable to assume that this will continue.  If you bring your own gas in a sealed container (like a new 5 gallon can of VP, for example) the vendor can install that for you and seal your tank at that point.  There IS a charge for that service.  Staff can (and sometimes does) check the tank for an intact seal following a record run.

If you are running FUEL or T/O, or never qualify for a record, no one will check.  "Fuel" is anything that isn't gasoline so there's no reason to check.  Remember, N2O qualifies as "fuel" regardless of what's in the tank - but if you plan to remove the bottle and make subsequent passes in gas classes remember to keep the tank sealed.

So far there have been no provisions for "Event Diesel" so it's treated like fuel.

All this was true at Maxton and is my understanding of the situation at Ohio.  Hopefully Joe or Keith can add in here if I got it wrong.
