The cool looking aftermarket exhaust pipe & muffler that was on the bike when Jacob purchased it was great for street use. But it wasn't needed for the Salt. We sold it & got a stock exhaust pipe & flange. Jacob modified it & is getting ready to weld it up.

We did a test fit on the motor. Again I must say, IT LOOKS BITCHEN

Weight is your friend at Bonneville. My Bonneville bike weighs about 100lbs more than my pavement bike. Do you have a rule book? You can only run discs on the rear wheel. Looks like a really cool build. Keep up the good work.

Welcome.  I saw your thread over on the JJ.  Was sorry to see it got the chop.  It will, I'm sure, be an interesting build.  Good luck with it.  Glad you moved it over here.

I see you found home. Yes, cool bike and fits on this forum.

I also see you (bigdaddy) got yourself banned on the Jockey Journal. No it was not me but why even post after I told you it did not fit and would be deleted?

Funny how a pushrod V twin can get banned on the JJ.

Yep +1 on the weight thing , you need weight for traction, and with the long runup available there is no penalty for being heavy

Depends how much power you end up with, std your weight/power is fine , if you fit a bigger turbo , turn up the pressure and intercool you may need to add weight

Otherwise i realy like the build

Naw, it was the Japanese part of it. Different garages, different rules. I don't post the Honda my brother and I are building for him there and I'm a freakin moderator! Same reason I do not expect Slim to put up with me talking all the time about ice climbing here.

Like I said, cool bike, always dug the Cxs

This will be our first attemp at a salt cycle. Jacob has done Speedway Motorcycles in the USA & England , Drag bikes at Carlsbad & Lions drag strip.
I know we are new to salt motorcycles.... is it still OK to ride in  your underwear & bedroom slippers?

Its OK to ride in your underwear so long as they have no vent panels and your slippers must be all leather.

Do we have any '11 Salt Talks shirts remaining?  Well, yes -- the Freud fan club didn't step up and buy us out after all their bargaining and dickering (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

The Honda CX series motors are water cooled , Most of them have a small radiator. The CX500tc Turbo has a radiator that is the size of a basketball backboard.

This stock radiator is GONE. We are having a new smaller alumnium radiator made for the bike.
It will catch less air at speed on the salt & it will cool the bike better. The guy in New York is almost done with it. I'll post photos when we get it.

We just got word from Scott at Wizard Cooling that the new aluminum radiator is ready & will be shipped to us. Things are starting to come together.   Pretty soon this will start to look like a motorcycle again.
