I almost forgot to thank SCOTT ( The King of Kool )  at WIZARD COOLING in New York
He did a fantastic job on our custom radiator. This radiator is much narrower than the stock radiator BUT it hold more coolant.

After a quick dip at  A to Z metal finishing this is the finished produckt on the bike

Hi Big

Neat looking salt bike, you just might check on painting your new radiator fins as it could slow down the cooling part with the fins being coated instead of bare alum?

Strip the fins and have the outside in the blue to take full advantage of the alum fins, plus it is hot up there and need all the help you can get not to get it overheated and burn it down.

DON / DND

Jacob asked me to reply to your comment on painting the radiator.........

When I coat aluminum I refer to a  book called " The surface treatment and finishing of aluminum and its alloys" by Wernick. I have used this many times. Some things I have learned over the years are:     Anodizing air intercoolers help with heat transfer.    The thicker the anodize the better the cooling.   All heat sinks are anodized, or they will fail.   All colors of anodize are the same for heat radiation.    As a radiator is used it will oxide anyway.   Anodizing is better than paint for heat transfer.    When i was a kid everything was painted black.   Powder coating radiators sucks.      The radiation # of aluminum.....mirror or matt finish is 0.75 max.....painted black is 1.5.....anodized is 4.3 or 92% . That is why I put AtoZ metal finishing in the blog. I still pay but they do a great job. After anodizing I coat with Old English furniture lemon oil. I am not saying what i did was perfect or anybody is wrong but i tried to use science. BUT, more important than all that....it looks bitchen!!!

Koncrete is korrect that the tail cowling will not pass for BUB rules. I know from experience. I had something very similar on my custom built tail (served as inter cooler tank). I had to rebuild it lower than 5 inches tall.
Better verify and modify it before getting there or you will be using a hack saw to get past tech.

Hi Big

OOps thought it was paint it looks so good, i understand about ano on the fins.

DND, my mistake. I assumed the bike was going to run at BUB (AMA sanctioned, not SCTA). The AMA rules are much stricter than SCTA for many things, including aerodynamics. The tail on this bike would not pass AMA rules because it is more than 5" taller than the seat base.
But the point is moot since they are running SCTA rules.

I started this thread to document this biuld, Not open a public forum. Maybe it is my fault for starting this tread...
I wish I had a little more control of what gets posted. It would be great to have a DELETE button.

It's great that everyone with a keyboard is an expert on what we are doing, with out reading the entire thread.
They read a few of the posts , look at a few photos & they start telling us we are doing things wrong & clutter up this build diary with USELESS GARBAGE
Don't get me wrong , I like to hear constructive criticism , some of you have come up with some very valid point. For those few educated salt freaks, I thank you for posting...
But those of you that pipe in with snap judgements or post stuff that has NOTHING to do with this build. PLEASE don't post in this thread

If you didn't want to start a public forum you possibly shouldn't have posted on a .....public forum.....

People are trying to offer you assistance.
You bag someone who tries to help and then apologizes to you WTF.

I expect I will receive another email from you as I did after I posted a bit of a joke on here last time.

STAN BACK & JON
Your latest posts are EXACTLY what I was talking about.....
I know this is a public fourm... but why do you have to post stuff that has nothing to do with the bike????
It is funny how some people read a simple request & think it is their chance to post MORE USELESS GARBAGE

Big Daddy keep posting and don't worry about some of the comments some add. It's a nice build and as you have seen many don't read the whole forum or article.

+1

I have read this whole thread and can't remember everything that's on it.

I haven't seen anything but constructive help most of the time on this whole landracing.com.
including this thread.

I really like the aluminum (?) bodywork.
