Roll Cage
« on: April 02, 2012, 08:06:52 PM »
I am curious about the spec in the rule book that says that the front hoop of the roll cage must 3" in front of the helmet. It appears from the drawing that the 3" is measured back from the leading edge of the front hoop. Is this case or exactly where is the 3" measured from. I.E. front, center or rear of front hoop to forward most spot on helmet.

for the official answer ask at the scta tech area of the scta website.... but the drawing is correct.  if you put a straight edge across the front of the hoop is should be 3 inches to the front of the helmet.  Lateral restraint must be even with the front of the helmet.
