He was inducted into the Dry Lakes Racers Hall of Fame in 2008.

I had a fairly lengthy conversation with Vance at Speedweek 2011... He was talking about some of the health issues from the bad crash.... but WOW!!!... Still seemingly as sharp as he always was.... Vance IS one of my land speed heroes!!!!!!
