Rumor has it that in his honor, the local townsfolk (mostly related, if you get my drift) are gathering tonight for the annual "Bonfire and Ice Melt" and will honor Jon for his achievements with a snow blower at the same time.
For the rest of us, we will honor him by just saying: Happy Birthday Slim.  You resemble your alias more and more each year.

For those of you that haven't seen this (older) photo of me and the real Seldom Seen Slim I present it.  This was taken in the one building still standing in Ballarat, the ghost town (now) near Death Valley where Charles Ferge, a/k/a Seldom Seen Slim, lived and died.  We've got photos of his grave, for that matter -- but you don't care much, I expect. . .

Much to the satisfaction of many readers, I have nothing to say to Jon.

You sure do look older.

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.
