When you get to Ohio and pick up your inspection sheet from the trailer, you can buy the log book.  Fill it out on the inspection line, as the first line on the inspection sheet is "log book filled out and presented".

yup another question...having a heck of a time making a metal beltguard and keeping the lower / inner fender, can i remove the fender. its just a abs piece that is attatched to the swingarm to keep debri from landing under the seat. no performance advantage once removed.

well i just cancelled easter, gonna be a thrashing next 48hrs

Don't know about removing a fender in Production.  However, sometimes you can easily over enginner making a metal chain guard and cause yourself all kinds of grief.  Remember the purpose of a chain guard is to protect the rider, sometimes the existing frame can protect better than a guard on some sections.

Removing an inner fender will get you tossed out of Impound if it's noticed by the inspector, or if someone decides to notice the lack and protests you.  Or so I feel.  Production class calls for exactly like it came off the showroom floor, remember, even if it isn't a safety issue.

glad i kept at it, only took 6 beers, 2 mac donalds fish sandwiches, and a 230am bed time to completly over engineer a nice under the fender belt guard, that retains the oem fender and i believe is very protective of me the rider.

i thank all of you for the help, if you would all just stop by we could be done in like 15minutes.

actually this is turning out to be alot of fun.

This sounds like a good build, hope you have a great time with it.

Maybe Slim can comment on this, but the BUB event rules state the exhaust must not point be toward the salt surface. My Buell S1 had the stock pipe aimed down, not sure but does the X1 not have twin exhaust with angled down tips?
I thought I would die young, but now its too late.

its been real fun so far, tires came in today, and i got a 55tooth rear pully off e-bay. so far only got 147.3mph rear wheel speed on the dyno. looking 4 165+ to even have a chance of coming close to the maxton recoord.

but then again i dont exspect to do anything but get threw tech and make a clean pass to show everyone i can ride...lol

i relly enjoy working in my shop, towards this goal.

the muffler is stock and exits rearward its a single can, come to think of it, this whole bike is completly stock except the gearing and safty mods [dampner, tires, and beltguard, kill switch] i do have other goodies for the next race but ran out of time.

well got to get some sleep and start over tomaro

pully got here yesturday, and she fits with the oem belt. got the kill switch wired in and started making the dampner mounts.

so i was reading the rulebook for the millionth time, and noticed that there is a rule on fire retardent fuel line coverings on non valved fuel lines. this bike is oem fuel injected, do i need to cover the fuel lines?

also i asked about gas / fuel requirments a while back. is there a spec fuel [say like rockets 100 unleaded] for the production pushrod class or do i just get the gas / fuel i wish to run from rocket and go from there?

well got to go to grandma's 90th birthday tonite, but tomarow im back at it

is your fuel pump inside the tank? If so you are good. Just make sure the pump turns off with the tethered kill switch.
