Just bought the steel to build my head restraints today, I'm expecting my carb jets tomorrow, and I'll be packing the head off for some tweaking before the end of the week.

Just SO glad that after last year, I'm not waiting on a crankshaft.

Expect a bigger audience this year - it's happening over the weekend.

Well, I guess we're making a LOT of progress . . .

Ya...I've enjoyed sharing my race truck with folks who venture to my tent, but....a bit worried it could be a distraction this year. I understand a bigger crowd means better finances....just hope the folks who are "just checking it out" don't change the dynamics I come to enjoy. :-D

I usually just pack my head down to the nearest bar, and that's all the tweaking I need.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Speaking of WoS being closer than you might realise -- I got the USFRA newsletter in yesterday's mail - - and I read it!  (I guess that not everyone that gets the paper reads through it).  Anyway -- on the front page there's a typographical error that's worth pointing out.

On the right side of the front page is a notice that the registration deadline for World of Speed is July 1, 2011.  I wrote to Ellen Wilkinson and asked - and she not only told me that the correct date is July 1, 2012 -- but that lots of folks do not read it.  Worse - from my point of view -- she says that lots of people "... go to some popular website and think thats all they need to know."

I wonder what site she's talking about?  And -- that's why I'm posting this information here on landracing.com.

As some of you may know, I have printed and given out between 150 and 250 callendar's every year for the past nine or ten years.
About five years ago the printer skipped a day leading into March.
All was well until I started getting phone calls about arguements with airline reservations. start of fishing season, and in one case a Wedding.
To this day, when I send out my yearly callandar's, I receive at least a dozen snide comments such as: "are the dates correct this year"?
The printer has not been seen or heard from for................ about four years..................
