The Challenge was put off in good faith till June.
Maty's engine parts arrived to late for a fair chance.
Larry did go 207mph,,, GREAT JOB,,,, But he Sprayed the N20... so that was a Fuel Pass...not GAS....
I went my fastest ever (with poor launch,,,again!! ,, my fault
195.51 MPH

Bill, I have a Big Tube 4 Link with AFCO Coilovers... The Car Handles great at speed, I was told the problem is that I launch like a drag car.. Full Throttle... with cold tires and a cold track it sure don't work to good,,, better with the new tires,, no spin in 3rd or 4th now,, just 1st then a small haze in second. I need to roll into the gas off the push truck in first and get my ground speed up before I shift into second.. I hit the chip on the spin and shifted into 2nd at high rpm,,, but ground speed was low and bogged the moter to far below peak HP,, lost a little there,,, oh well at least the car is good,,, have to calm down that impatient nut behind the wheel,,, Charles

We found the issue we had that was keepen it off the 200 plus GAS pass, just didn't have time to fix it there. Very light spray to take the TSC win and didn't know if that would be enought till we got to the other end. You all know our luck with NOS in the past so we went light with it. We'll still play with ya in the C motor challenge come June if the luck is with us to be there. And yes Charles, you did run a 195 to our 194, so good job!!!! Sorry I didn't get to talk to ya for Turk was needen the car for picts. You de man Charles!!!

Larry, I sure hope you guys can come back in June.
It will be fun..let's make sure we pit together... I hope the weather will be better and less hectic for all of us.
CONGRATS on the TSC Win ... you worked hard to get it...that Mazda looked great going down track.
Oh yeah,,, I guess if we had have kept our door slammer C gas n/a challenge, my 195.51 would have WON !!!

Its easier to gain mph at the start than at the top end as real estate is not going by as fast. I would love to be able to launch like a drag car. Not really possible on salt or dirt but working on it. JL222

JL222,
Burn Outs are strictly forbidden ... no way now how... I run BFG Drag Radials that have been heat cycled.. They did hook much better than my prevoius rear tires,,,
My 1.st gear loss of traction was due to 3 issues (remember rain dampend track and 40 to 45 degree air temps, wind chill below 40) 1. Cold Tires 2. Cold Track 3. My Drag Race full Throttle and dump the clutch launch
For June I have 3 changes 1. Warmer Tires 2. Warmer Track 3. Better Launch Control

Charlie- Which BFG's do you run? Are they more similar to a DOT legal "slick" (with grooves fore/aft) or a conventionally cut drag radial? I've never had problems with traction on a "step aside" clutch dump launch, regardless of weather. We're running 295/40/17 M/T drag radials with 25psi...

Luke my new tires are the conventional tread design BFG Drag Radial 2's
Much smaller than your big tires,,, I have clearance issues,,
Mine are 26" tall,,, 9" wide (8" wide contact patch/tread area) on 15" rims.
I ran 35 psi in rear... first time on these tires and wanted to make sure they did not "skate" on the top end..
I have a better plan for June,,, Hope to see you there.
Charles
