I think Sid is right ...in that the fittings are for P47 fitment. From what I can garner they are the same 165 gal. shells as the P38 tanks. I could of course be talking through my hat.

Those P47s were a pretty brutal piece of kit.

I might make it my mission to find him and confirm the hearsay....

Yea, That little tank has been around for a couple of years now. Belongs to Boots Moreland from the Sacromento Delta area in NorCal. He and two of his Brothers belong to the San Diego Roadster Club.It was found contenplating life in Bakersfield Farm field. Now it makes trips to Bonneville and El Mirage,
Like said above it has a Honda 200 cc air cooled engine and just enough room(almost) for Boots to drive.I'm sure it will be back again this year.

I don't care what it is or what you want to call it - - I want one!  Is there a 30 cubic inch pushrod class?

Sure, classes J & K. Records run between 140 & 211 depending on displacement and engine configuration.

Blown gas K class is at 133.2, but unblown is much higher.  I'm shooting for 130 in partially streamlined 500cc pushrod gas bike class this year, so.....does a lakester have a lower coefficient of friction than a partially streamlined bike?

Stan,

Doesn't matter. I may have lost track in the thread but I was thinking we were still talking belly tanks.
My post referred to lakester records in those two classes. Pushrods, cammers they all run the same in cars.

As you well know, pot stirring guy.
