Bill, I know that Bo Burkdoll hangs around on Facebook -- so you could chase him down there.  He shows up here now and then, too -- but I haven't seen him on in recent days.  I don't use Facebook, but Nancy does.  I'll ask her to ask him.

Nonetheless-- I think it's a GSXR 1000 engine.

It was a GSXR 1000 motor before it became the S10 Motor.  Very interesting installation, mounted inline so the tranny output mounts a u-joint for the driveshaft.

Could be the Burkdoll kids grew up racing at the salt and paid a little attention.... Everyone in the family is in the 200MPH club but Bo, and he crashed the family car way over the 2 mark.  They did a nice job thinking outside the box on the truck.  I think they may be limited in speed by gearing currently since they are running the motor on the rev limiter through the mile... then there is the clutch...

Ya now and then I do post on here when the time is right. The S10 ran the gsxr 1000 In I/MMP at speed week. And the same engine at world of speed with a added vortec supercharger in I/BMMP. Any question I would be happy to answer. Here is the video we took at world of speed.     http://youtu.be/EvJPwJlV1Dg

Thank you for confirming the engine used...two questions I can think of....how did you connect the transmission to the driveshaft  and do you know how much the truck weighed?
Very impressive what you did with 1000cc...so much from so little.

I know it was very, very light. He told me but I don't remember for sure. I believe it was roughly 1/3 the weight of our Sonoma. I have never seen more holes drilled in anything.

Couplings to put drive shafts on bike engines are pretty common in roundy-round racing.  Think - Dwarfcar, Ledgends, etc.

Adapters for the usual suspects (Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki) can be bought from dwarfcar builders/Suppliers like PeterD Motorsorts.   http://peterdmotorsports.com/parts-db/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=555

Other sources are out there as well.  Google 'dwarfcar' to find them.

Bo, we LOVE your truck!!!  and enjoyed talking with you at Speedweek.  Thanks for proving that innovation is still alive and well on the salt!

How did the supercharged effort work out for you, we haven't heard what it did???

I didn't happen to see your "truck" at speed week but looking at the 2011 results it looks like 137+ was your best speed. That is pretty impressive for a 61 cu. in. motorcycle motor in a box!! Looking at your results at WOS it looks like the blower was not very effective, was 140 your best speed?? Great thinking outside the box and from everyone's comments it sounds like a neat truck. I will not miss it next year!!!

The supercharger worked really good. We ran 144 at World of Speed. We was working on some tunning issues we the rains came. We think it has more left in it.
