Happy New Year to all from the LTA!
The new year is upon and the LTA has made only one resolution:  Make the 2012 Maine Event the best yet!  To do this, we have a bunch of improvements and additions to announce:

1)  2 new classes of Categories of motorcycles – Twins and Classics.  See the rules for more info.
2)  In cooperation with NEDRA (National Electric Drag Racing Association) we now recognize Electric Vehicles in all classes of both cars and bikes.  Existing Categories will be used with voltage as the engine class.  We will be recognizing all NEDRA voltage classes to allow for their new initiative to maintain a database of EV LSR records from around the world.
3)  The Rulebook has been extensively rewritten.  Don’t worry, there are no changes to the spirit and intent of the rules, just reformatting, clarification, and removal of ambiguous language. Any changes to the letter of the rules are in bold as with the SCTA.  Some changes are to maintain parity with SCTA and ECTA rules and some are specific to the LTA.
4)  We have reached an arrangement with the facility owners to remove the transition hump at both ends of the track; so when you leave the line, you will have the whole runway width to yourself. One racing line, 300’ wide.
5)  There are some other changes coming get our racers more runs, but the details are still being worked out.  We will keep you informed.

The new rulebook will be available online within a week or two.

Thanks for posting, Tim.  I was about to ask you if you wanted me to put this up -- and wooo, there it is.  Best wishes for a safe and fun and FASSSSTTTT season in 2012.

Tim, that is awesome.  Having a wide open strip from start to finish is great.  Looking forward to 2012 at Loring.  With the calender now showing 2012 the anticipation has already started to build.  Thanks for the update.

Tim-
Haven't been to the LTA site in awhile, looks great. I did notice that the records page was only for
the previous year, i.e. our record in 2010, which still stands, isn't listed. Any thoughts on having a
by-class records page in the future that can be updated? Also, a 200 club member page? Looking
forward to another trip to Loring soon!

Hello Luke!!

Hope your family and team are doing great. Are you or Seth planning on traveling to Ohio? We've been wondering what's been going on with Red Hot.
Our Very Best To You,

Geo
