Front mounted fuel tank
« on: December 24, 2011, 04:38:43 PM »
It has been quite a while since I have been here. I had a round with colon cancer, really broke my momentum. I am an aspiring LSR racer, started building a car about two years ago. I am getting back with it now. The car is to be run in altered classes. My question is this, is there a problem or any special cosideration for using a front mounted fuel tank (cell)? My idea is to mount it in the nose of the car, supported and protected with a cage of tubing. I like the thought of keeping the fuel lines away from the drivers compartment. What are other guys doing with this idea?

It's pretty much the  standard way to mount the tank

Just make sure that if you are running an a class that requires a radiator that you don't accidentally obstruct flow to it.
