Charles here is an idea, Mike Cook has his event, Charles you should host the Venable Rods and Racing Invitational Land Speed Shootout. Invite 30 cars and 30 bikes and "we", assuming I get invited, can run laps until our stuff is worn out. :)

A more serious idea would be a test and tune on Friday with times but no record until Sat/Sun. For those of us that will tow 17 hours with a freshly rebuilt piece we can work some of the winter bugs out. I know there is a lot involved for ECTA to do an extra day but I know I would be willing to pay an extra fee to get some Friday runs.

Bill

Sounds like a great idea. Maybe I better send Charles a Christmas present, in hopes of pulling down an invite...!

Merry Christmas to all ECTA/LTA runners - really looking forward to 2012.
Thanks again to The ECTA Crew for Wilmington!

I already got my invite!  And Charles threw in my towing expenses at 50 cents a mile!  He says it's set for April 1.

Wait until he finds out that entropy wins in the end!  :-o :-o

Entropy: The tendency for all matter and energy in the universe to evolve toward a state of inert uniformity.

BTW: The first stages of this can be directly observed in Washington, DC!

I don't remember how long ago - but I'll guess it was six or more years ago at Maxton -- that I could have made more runs.  I was lapping - but had to wait a little while extra between runs to let the motor cool.  I had a regular cooling system and fan and everything, but I expect it was both hot weather - and just too dang many laps - that had the temp too high to run again and again and again.  So I'd wait about 15 minutes or more 'tween runs.  I suppose it was a Sunday, near the end of the event, too -- not so likely to happen on a Saturday mid-day.  Nonetheless - lots of runs then.

Our best has been 3 runs a day in the last few years. Many more if you went to a June Maxton event but damn it's hot and humid.

You guys really should make the tow to run at Ohio. I know it's real far but I personally think your car has the all out mile record in it just waiting to happen.
