Post race update.

We ran the car 8 times and every one of them had a 300+ on the timeslips. The best, and last, being a 313.6 out the back. We were running against a 314 record, so we were always a few short on the qualifying. We were out of ideas that would be simple changes and tires, too.

No big problems or issues with the car.

For a bunch of guys who have been chasing the magic number of 300 for a few years, this years runs were a big accomplishment. The time slips looked like we had a bracket car.

Is the 608 the first unblown gas lakester to top 300 on carburetors? I think so.   It means nothing, really, but it's a great drinking game in the pits.

Frank

CCar looked awesome and fast! Congrats!

Congratulations to these guys!!! they had a Mile that added 50 MPH to what was the record they broke 5 years ago that took AA over the 270 minimum.  They did a 317 on a 314 held by Hammon's #77, that put them in inpound.  This 317 with a 322 exit---with the 313. best they had last year-- this performance puts ALL AA/GL teams on notice--- we are going to have to bring our AA game (pun intended)  This team has elevated their game and given notice to all -- what to plan for > 320!!!     Don  here's to 2 of these-- back to back---SOON and what it brings to your head
