The car and everything interchange, but the sides skirts and rear wing are different from 1990 to 1991. The best aero is what he did, by using the aero nose from a '91 and the earlier side skirts. Tony

Very Interesting. I was most of the way through Inspecting the White Firebird this past Speed Week when it was withdrawn. The ex Joe Law lakester can be seen on the left in the Streamliner pic. It spun on Wednesday, late in the day. It seems as though the financial backing that the whole programme was  held together with may now not be present? In any case, these certainly are proven cars, with not much to do to make them ready to run. There is alot of stuff up for sale at the moment, it seems.....

The Firebird would be illegal by  SCTA rules.  The'91 nose with earlier side skirts is a no no. Tony

Wasn't 82-92 the same?

never mind. not enough coffee yet.

I checked with my lawyer and a "davorce" is when your wife is mad about your racing and just wants to force you to sell all of your racing stuff for 5 cents on a dollar. A "devorce" is when she gets half, all of your assets and you get half which are all of the liabilities! A divorce is when you catch her with your best friend!

I refer to it as a "fresh start."

That engine for 10.5K$ looks like the one in the Firebird........My brother has been "subdivided" 3 times....I seem to enjoy that.......................JD

I am a little upset. When I bought my car I did not think to ask the seller for the "red hat" guarantee! My seller did not "save that for me." I could have used it last Speedweek I was only 27 miles per hour off the record. Not to be deterred I will spend countless hours and what ever sum of money I can come up with to see what my personal best can be in 2012.
In my 42 years of dreaming about Bonneville and my one event experience I have decided there are only a few guarantees when racing on the salt:

1. It will cost a lot more than you think
2. The salt gets everywhere
3. The hotels in Wendover are pricey
4. The salt is unlike any place on earth
5. Any record is hard to set
6. If you spend too much money or time and piss off your wife she will file for a "Davorce!"

There's a language filter on the sight so that some kinds of coarse language don't negatively affect our sensitive minds.

I will try and be more sensitive when applying my dry sense of humor in the future. I can see where the word "Plymouth" is far more sensitive than the "P" word I was attempting to use.

I worked for a large corporation for 23 years... I know a lot about sensitivity filters! When I left and went out on my own I felt like someone removed their foot from my neck! :)

Bill:

About the word-replacer.  I call it the "curse word filter", and it's in the software to allow the administrator (me) to tell the machine to replace any word that appears with another word.  I've got some of the very common "curse" words programmed into it to be replaced with Car brands.  It's not simply because I'm all prim and proper, but rather to try to keep the foul language that's way too prevalent on the sites that have input from the general public - to keep it NOT on our forum.  I do that because I want the folks here to feel comfortable if their kids or wife or anyone to see something without being shocked or offended by the dirty words.  I also try to keep the cursing to a minimum so that anyone that happens by the site - whether it's a plain ol' web-surfer or a potential advertiser - from being turned off by the dirty words.

So - Don't Plymouth and moan at me when I tell you to Ford off, Dodge it!  By the way -- I think all of us would appreciate it if you don't try to experiment to see what words I did NOT put into the filter.
