my son came home from Afghanistan!
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:14:28 AM »
I went to the door and had an Army soldier say trick or treat. You could have knocked me over with a Hot Rod magazine.  He just finished a 1yr deployment near Kabul, Afghanistan with the Army's 10th Mountain Division.  I wasn't expecting him home for another week.  He went to Speed Week 2010 with me for his last hurrah before deploying.  I'm the proud papa of a combat veteran.  He's bigger and stronger than me now.  Can't wait til he sees his mom so I can go around telling everyone he's home (it's still a secret)!  My son is home from the war safe!

Excellent News. My Son came back two weeks ago. He spent six months on the Base in Kabul, working nights, loading planes and a couple of stints on Guard Duty.(He`s Air Force ).. Soft duty compared to the stretch your boy pulled.....Thank him for me, would you....

Congratulations!

Coming home from a deployment is always special, but coming home from a war zone must be extraordinary.

Thank your son for his service for me, please.

My son in law is in the 10th Mountain division.  They have been taking some hits and having a rough time.  I sure am glad your son is home OK.

10 Mountain are some of the fiercest fighters ever to walk the earth! ( I may be a little biased here, but I'm telling the truth.) Congratulations young man... Job well done. Wear your CAB proudly, and don't take any subaru from anyone. Always remember that what you have gone through was probably the toughest thing you'll ever do, and anything that comes at you later in life will just be a cake walk!
