Hard place to say goodbye to
« on: October 31, 2011, 06:54:08 AM »
It was a fitting way to close out Maxton. Rain, cold and a stiff headwind.  For us in the 6 years of being there, nothing has ever come easy.  We had a lot of success and oh yeah, a lot of failure.  We kept coming back though.  There was just something about that place.  While I'll miss the track with character, the people is what makes it all special.  Looking forward to Ohio and a new place to call home.  For the record our best run of the weekend on the ZX-6 was 176.8 mph.  Way off our record speeds.  Can't beat the wind.  The ZX-10 had yet another ELECTRONIC failure and we struggled through the traps at a slow 190.  Thanks to everyone that has given so much to keep Maxton alive for so long.  The countdown to Wilmington has begun.
