Today was both a good day and bad day.
Good,,, during my normal pre race inspection, I had the Studebaker up on the lift going over everything and saw a scratch on the drivers side front brake rotor,, upon further inspection I found the rotor was cracked... also good that I found it today. (and not having to experiance an exploding rotor at top speed or in shutdown)
Bad,,, no one local had rotors for me,, had to overnight a pair in for morning delivery.. so I am replacing both front rotors and bearings too. going to do a rear gear change as well,
Hope tomorrow goes well and that we get the trailer packed and car loaded before Dark..
If all goes well should arrive at the Track around 11:30am Friday.
Charles

Went over bike from end to end ... found a loose bolt ... slow charge set on battery overnight ... Had to weld up my nephews turbo manifold (again). Need to fab up a new one for next year over the winter. I added a brace to keep it together a little longer. Trailer is hooked to the truck just needs the bike in it and we are off at 0900 in the morning.

I don't know that I'm ready - but I'm getting packed.
Good catch on the rotor, Charles.
Safe trips, boys and girls.

Taking Mom's Celebrity for the last time this meet. Following the meet it'll go up for sale. My oldest bro is coming from San Antonio and we have a wager - slowest brother buys Sunday dinner for the fastest brother. I did a good (I hope) tune up and have cut the front pipe loose at the cat inlet to (hopefully) reduce backpressure and increase power. Or maybe it'll just be louder. Anyhow, it'll be fun. Amy's going to take the Celeb down the track and pretty much anyone else with a helmet.
Car's on the trailer and we're ready to go. Dave (my bro) will meet me at the track on Friday afternoon.

Charles, Plan is to get underway oh dark thirty tomorrow AM for a straight shot down the coast and a Fri eve arrival. Spectating safari this time, no truck driver or go fer duties, will be stealing tech and picking brains like always. Been 2 years since I've been able to get to Maxton, now that Mac's has closed and I missed my chance for the fried liver mush , any recommendation for breakfast? Looking forward to seeing everybody again. Ed

After a year on the sidelines the Ducati will be returning to the track with the somewhat unfinished airtech body in place. This will be my first event with a purpose built machine since my one event this year was with the 500 Production Class bike. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Truck's been to the Dyno, replaced a bad o2 sensor, got a fresh tune up got a couple niggly problems straightened out (hopefully). Worked on the Trailer, Loading this morning and going for a stopover in Princeton, WV tonight and a nice mid morning arrival on Friday.
I plan to have a really good time this weekend. Dan, can't wait to see who wins the bet...where's dinner?

Since the camaro isn't in race trim no need to haul it down and take up pit space. I had planned to get there Friday around noon but the boss nixed that. Seems all of upper management here at the plant got an invite by corp to go to Vegas for the weekend. So that leaves me in charge at the plant Any way Amy and me will leave Friday afternoon when she gets done teaching the rugrats. See y'all there.

Dinner may be at McDuffs (as good as it gets in Laurinberg) or we may come back to Wilmington and eat at one of my favorite places. We have GREAT food here.
As a replacement for Mac's - the best I know of is the Waffle House (in front of the shopping center roughly across from Champs). There may be a Mom & Pop place in town but I haven't found it.

It's a bit past noon Thursday - and we're a couple of hours south of the Mackinac Bridge southbound. We'll camp someplace in SE Ohio tonight and should arrive in Laurinburg tomorrow evening or so. It seems that even though we've been making this trip for eleven years -- we haven't discovered the shortcut that'll save us a day's driving. But -- next year we'll be on it -- 'cause we'll have to go only to Wilmington. Hooray!
