The fun started early.  Had to retap an ugly thread in the turbo manifold. Tap broke off in the hole and I actually got it out. Then loading the drag bike, I broke off the oil line fitting inside the oil pump.  Bad engineering on my part. Fortunately, I had another AN6 x 1/8"NPT 90 so I just ty wrapped the line out of the way, grabbed an ez out and continued loading.  Will get the broken nub out and replace the fitting at Maxton tomorrow. Got on the road a half hour late and hit bumper to bumper traffic on the Long Island Expressway (also known as the world's longest parking lot). Lost an hour getting through Brooklyn from construction on Brooklyn Queens Expressway.  Now DC traffic will be a bear all the way to Fredericksburg.   I will not miss this part of the Maxton experience. Still better than a day at work.

Just hop in the trailer and fix that as your driver heads down the road.  Multitasking!

At a hotel in Mooresville. Been here since early wed morning for an auction. Well loaded up with race parts and we will head south some time tomorrow.
The truck is coming from Nashville tomorrow afternoon with Kix and Revolutionary driving the tow vehicle.
Can't wait to get there and see everyone. I have a feeling it will be a special weekend.   cheers

Tech line totals through 6 pm ... 46 motorcycles / 55 cars with about 5 more cars still in tech line.  More to come in tomorrow I am sure.  Nice turn with some familiar and not so familiar faces.  Rookie orientation meeting had 30 racers ... Bike line looked like the British invasion. There were at least 10 Triumphs/BSA/Norton and 1 Vincent.

If in doubt, it probably IS a mistake.

Just dropped the car and trailer, caught din din with Mrs. Midget at the 211 cafe downtown - Killer roasted chicken and the chef whipped up a very nice veggie dinner for Kate.

The drive through the Cumberland and the Smokies saw rain the entire way, and when we got to Charlotte, a two hour traffic jam on the order of what I would expect on the Dan Ryan at 5:00 in the afternoon - I'm frazzled.

It took more time to get from the Tennessee/Kentucky border to Laurinburg than it took to get to Tennessee from Beerhaven.

I'll be putting together my log book tonight, and dare I say - rooting for the Cardinals.
