I don't know about that!  The Vicky sure looked smelled and sounded like a race car going down the mile.  I look forward to seeing her run at the finale.

The duc is back at the Ducati shop after its first visit to the body shop.  The S&S fairing now has dual air inlets and the HD air cleaner bump on the right side is no more.  It won't see final trimming and paint until after she makes a few passes though.  The seat base has been extended a few inches and needs to be fit.  Then we can adjust the new clip-ons and trim the fairing as needed and we should be ready.  I am hoping to squeeze a tune in but it may be interesting to see how the speed changes based only on the bodywork.

I am switching the Vicky from an auto trans to a clutchless 4 speed and having major fitment issues,,,,

That darn car is so Narrow inside ... I am going to have to redo the tunnel, the big boy seat has to be trimmed and moved a bit and I need a wicked bend in the shifter lever..

So to say the least.. the Vicky will not be at Maxton...

Doing some small changes to the Studebaker (if time permits)
Better Tires, Rear Gear Change, Cowl Box, etc...

I was going to install a NOS system .... but I am NOT going to the dark side,,,I know,, make up my mind,,, This will be my Ohio and Loring motor for N/A gas and Fuel in 2012,, and with the major upgrades to the E motor,, not going to mess with this C motor for now,..

See you all in a few weeks.

Nancy and I are planning to attend this final event - but the Pine Acres, our preferred motel, is full (as of when I called a few minutes ago).  Because the parties and such will be at PA -- we'd prefer to stay there.  I'll get us a room at one of the other places if there's nothing at PA - - but before I do that I'll post here to ask if anybody made a reservation there and is going to cancel.

We aren't planning on arriving 'til Friday around supper time - can't get away from the shop for an earlier departure.

Whatever, let us know and we'll take your unneeded room.  Send a PM or an email or even call me at 906 three six one 6282.

Thanks -- and we look forward to seeing youse guys again soon.

Slim - you bringing the audio?  I might be able to give you a hand.

I have a new audio toy I'd like to try out . . .

Not unless Max decides to send it to me, you, or someplace in Maxton/Laurinburg.  He's got it for the winter.  I guess it works -- he's wanting to do some refarbulation and thruxtificatory frammistaning.  If'n he is willing -- since it's pretty-well developed and runs by itself -- we could give it a try.  But getting it to you or me in time might be a hassle.  C U there, right?  Where're you staying?  We're still (as of right now) going to have to go to one of the crack whore motels.  Cheap entertainment -- watching, that is -- but not necessarily the quietest resting place.

Looking back a few years when THE LAST DRAG RACE was held at Lions it was over whelming with spectators and racers. The race was bitchen and the party after lasted until day break and the the souvenir hunters stripped the place of everything except the bleachers and the track. It took hours to clear out the cars and spectators. Some parked and walked over a mile and had to find their cars the next day. The police were really cool with everyone. What a shame it went away. I think the Maxton racers will feel the same. Enjoy the memories.

Thanks, and oh, great -- now I've gotta figger out how to run it all over again.  Do I need to fill up the Verizon card I've got - or are there a few hours/bytes/days left on the one you've got?  Dates of the event are the 29st and 30rd, don't forget.  We leave home no later than early Thursday morning (28nd of October), which is well before the mail is delivered, so keep that in mind if you're shipping it to here.  Also please remind me and Chris what stuff we've gotta know to run it correctly.

The good part of it all is that there's good audio on the CB from the tower at Maxton and there's only one run at a time -- so the cornfusion between two or four tracks doesn't happen.

Max, I sent something to Kathryn today.  Thanks.

I wonder how many pre-entries for this event? I have a feeling that it's a whole lot...
