Maxton in October - The Grand Finale
« on: September 25, 2011, 06:28:12 PM »
One way or another I will be running there.  I transferred the Duc from the race shop to my bodyman Saturday.  The S&S body is mounted but I need the second air intake and mods to the  to be in business next month.  Three more weeks of my four month training run then one week to be sure I am ready.  Can't wait to see everyone down there.

Its decission time for the 2100. I hurt the motor at Bonneville, not too bad but enough it is out and apart. I have a new trans and clutch which would require a new or partial trans tunnel. With business the way it is I only get two to three nights a week at the shop for 2 to 3 hours. I am out of town the second week of October. If business was better I would take a week off and knock out the big stuff but it is not. It is not looking good for October. I am thinking of switching to a D/CGBALT for 2012 so I may just pass and concentrate on 2012. I hate to miss it.

Amy and me will be there with the "new" camaro running C/GALT. On the mad thrash to get it done so she can make tech and some shake down runs and maybe get Amy some licensing runs. then it's more build time this winter for the OHIO MILE next year.

The Time Bomb is getting some minor attention on sunday. Then its off to the rollers next weekend for the final tune up. Then its getting a nice wash and wax after the dismal conditions last meet.

Busy getting the Lakester  {the wife calls it the mistress} back together were looking forward to running the flathead Ford one last time at Maxton. It will be sad when we depart from the event for the last time on Sunday. Maxton has that great old traditional feel about it and the place is fast.
BUT were looking forward to racing on the Wilmington mile next spring.

Working in the shop I use the 'F' word a lot. No not that word these words Focus and Finish go Fast and Flathead Ford!

The Airtech S&S fairing has good aero. If you have a narrow engine it is the way to go.

We'll be there to close Maxton out, but it y only be with the ZX-10.  I knew we hurt the ZX-6 last month right off the bat, and it looks like we have done some damage to the head.  It all depends on when we get things back.  I expect everyone to be there for the last event, so with long staging lines one bike may be the way to go anyway.  See everyone there.
