I just put in a bid on it - for precisely the reason Fredvance suggested.

I expect it's going to get stupid.

Or maybe we should tag team?

I won't go any higher, but if someone is willing to get it authenticated and commit it to the museum, I'll pitch in if I can keep one of the tags.

You may want to talk to the museum first.

IMO it is an interesting bit, but without the correct period/type stop watches it lacks a bit as an exhibit. If someone has a close photo of it in use, could find someone who remembers, or a calibration sheet that listed the make/model of watches perhaps the watches could be replaced.

Shouldn't that be a timing tag team?

So the bid is still at 1025.00 dollars with 2 days to go. But the guy has a buy it now price of 5000.00 dollars. I dont know but in the condition that the stuff is in it does not look like it is worth either price.

Final and winning bid on the timing junk is $2575.00 dollars. What a waste of money.

Has anyone ever heard of the Western Timing Association? I am thinking of making some antique looking boxes and calling it the Eastern Timing Association gear ... I could use 2500

Thats one of those things that I bet the bidder is fake or never pays because of some crazy reason, you will see it again in a week with some excuse that the high bidder never contacted him so he puts it back up and this time it will sell for $250

Sorry, I simply don't get it;
why do you diss this thing ?

It's a part of very early LandRacing history
and it's part of early S.C.T.A history.

How can that ever be 'junk' , 'a waste of money' ?

Has anyone ever heard of the Western Timing Association?

Obviously someone here hasn't.
Besides, it's hardly the point.
The point is they should hear about it.
I hope this little piece of history goes to the museum.
