Great coverage of the Granite Falls project. We ALL need to encourage efforts like it IMHOP.

RTR, my condolences. There are two OUTSTANDING driveshaft fabricators in yrs truly's area.

Inland empire Driveline in Guasti, Ca. and Ed Moore Drivelines in San Bernardino, Ca. Both understand racers needs.

Moore, incidently is the former driver ot the "MOB" fuel altered and ,in his engine building days, built the motor for '55 Chevy that paced the local San Berdoo Doctor on his bicycle, to, at that time, the fastest ever human vehicle speed.
The good Doctor ran to the Salt Flats from Wendover each race day, by the way.

Any other you/us dudes ever did that? Or wanna try?

Dr F?
.

Sure, I'll be yer huckleberry. But I run/ride all the time anyway. The Docs record was broken by John Howard BTW. Vescos modified thier liner for him to pace behind. That was 83/4ish when I was a kid and getting into road racing at that time.  cheers

I think you asked about the ambient mic - sounds like yesterday - maybe bump it up a tad?  Your call.

Nancy -- 201.913 mph record on a production ZX15!

For those of you that aren't listening to the streaming audio, there was an incident this morning - a health-related, not an accident.  The ambulance took the person to town and racing had to stop while the ambulance was gone.  The waiting continued 'til about 9.15 (15 minutes ago), and it's just now that we're making the final four or five return runs from yesterday.  Once the remaining vehicles have run - and that's gonna be any minute now -- we'll reset and start qualifying runs for this Thursday.  There are quite a few racers in line for qualifying, so waiting will be long if we leave the pits now.

Nancy is ready to run -- but since there's a long wait -- we might stay here for a while, I'll try to make some updates, and later we'll mosey down to the line for her to run.  I'll post and then continue.

Sam Dakin just ran 124.915 in the mile on his return run from yesterday's qualifier, and since he was running on an open record -- which qualifier was where he had steering issues yesterday and ran 77 -- his new record average will be right around 101.106.  Not bad -- on that first run he had dang no steering abaility -- had to muscle a frozen steering head bearing through the lights abefore turning out yesterday.

All of yesterday's qualifiers backed up their records this morning -- a 100% average, right?  Sure hope the salt (which, by the way, is a new course this morning -- moved the course over last night after racing quit) holds out 'til we run.

We're just ending a quick hold to look for the video camera from Stainless' Bockscar.  It was searched for, sought, and seeked -- and can't be found, so we're getting ready to resume running.  Stewards are back in position to resume.

120 or so registered land speed racers, plus about 85 130 Club cars (per Ron on the radio) at this event.
