This a Frank Kletschkus' "light painting" of the Spirit of Sunshine. Frank uses a torch to light the subject on a long exposure. We met Frank at the salt and he lived with me in Melbourne for a bit.Originally from Germany he's been to Gairdner four or five times. He's a professional photographer and journalist and a veteran bike fan , he's kind of wandered the world for years and dragged his original clip wartime Indian Chief with him.You can see more of his stuff here......

Wow, Frank's photos are nothing short of stunning. That's a pretty awesome picture of your belly tanker too... Thanks for the post.

Anyone know anything about this picture?  I got it off of "salt flat racing" page on Facebook.  They didn't know who it was, just that it was in the 50s in So-Cal somewhere.

Between the 1&2 on course #1 this year.  No wonder there were so many spins this year at speed week.

So how is that to be fixed? Or, better yet - what do you suggest?

Dan I hope you're not getting grumpy.  Just a picture and a tongue and cheek statement.  It's mother nature, not even you could fix it.  Notice the Afro.

Some Pics I got in 2010 at Lake Gairdner.

Around the edge of the Lake.

The Surface prepped and ready to go.                                                                                                         Looking towards the Pits
