Simply Al..... the magic of El Mirage, way cool Photographer unknown
Folks,In trying to contribute what I can at the present, a search of the forum threads doesn't appear to yield a thread dedicated to artistic pictures from salt flats around the world. One of my favourite threads on another forum I frequent, with a different subject matter, allows folks to post their artistic photos and it's pretty popular. I believe that great photographs of salt flats and land speed racing can and will inspire future generations of racers and might go some way to preserving endangered salt flats and land speed racing on them.Rules, well there aren't any. However, I'd like to suggest some guidelines. The pictures should be somewhat artistic (in the beholder's eye) and in good taste...The pictures should have been taken at a salt flat venue round the world[/size]The picture can have been taken at any time in the past or presentYou should preferably own the copyright to the image. If not, please credit the sourcePlease include any information that can identify the venue, date and subject if knownIf you are going to link the pictures in from a separate site as opposed to uploading them, please try to ensure that the picture will be available there for the foreseeable future. There's nothing more annoying than a great picture that disappears because the link or end storage location vanished. If you wish, identify the camera and settings or editing program with which the picture was shot or createdI look forward to seeing the pictures and associated stories from folks.Regards,Jim
Mr. Back, our friend who started this thread did indeed say "salt flat venue" but as he added around the world and there are only a few such places (even less raced on) that he meant LSR venues. He is from Canada after all....... Kidding
