Bonneville 200 MPH Club/400 MPH Chapter
« on: August 25, 2011, 06:07:32 PM »
As many of you know the club introduced the formation of the 400 MPH Chapter at this year's Speed Week event.

Twelve men were awarded the new black hat signifying their accomplishments.

My flawed, personal research mistakenly identified Richard Noble as having received the title of Sir from the Queen. I also neglected to honor Donald Campbell for his 403 MPH record set in '60s.

I have corrected these mistakes and will ensure these gentlemen receive the recognition they deserve.

My thanks go to Landspeed Louise Noth and Thomas 'Pork Pie' Graff for their input.

Dan, no apology needed, the racers all know that an error can be made, your intro and the great racers that are the hard core racers over many years all earned the 400 chapter hat. When you think these were all wheel driven vehicles except for a
a few Jet cars that had their own war of speed. We were lucky to have known most of them.

Was great to watch the proceedings, interested to see LS Louise make the correction on the title, we need those people and their accuracy.

Great night, great week, great place......I might be back.

This sounds familiar . . .

Great night, great week, great place......I might be back.

The words are different, but the tone is the same . . .

I just received a series of phone calls from a certain photographer who is leaning on me something severe to attend a certain salt racing event.......

Yeah, yeah yeah - just remember to bring the tank next time . . .

Chris/Midget,

I thought I had a solution this year after the debacle last year. Another epic fail.

Ron Cohn figured it out about 1/2 way into the program. He wants a table near the control box next year. I have placed the reserved card already.

I think the office is awarded alphabetically.

Is there a published list somewhere?  I don't see it on the website?

Probably should elaborate.
Tom drove Walt Arfons' Wingfoot express and broke Breedlove's 407+. Held the record for 3 days before Art Arfons went 434+.
