Ever reflect that pay has fewer letters than work? When I got married I discovered that payday wasn't the day that I got paid; that's the day everybody else gets paid.

DYNO test was a success yesterday.. got home at 4pm... took a power nap... after that and
bowl of chili and grilled cheese smammy,,, started around 9pm and had motor back in the car by midnight.

Now having to redo the header flanges,,, as the new heads are not set up like my other 3 sets...later today,, should have all the underhood stuff done...change oil, , bleed clutch, bleed brakes, top off all fluids. check all steering and suspension... replace the D bag on Chute...

Test fire motor in the car...

Then go over the complete pre race checklist,,, the trailer packing list...

OH crap,,, so much left to do,, I better quit typing and go down to the shop now,,,,,

See ya.

Charles,

Would you like to share the numbers? If not no problem.

Thanks,

Tom G.
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

My motor builder was very happy.. he has used this dyno before and feels it is a lower reading that actual,, but is very consistant .

The motor is an 18 degree chevy small block (of course)....370 cubic inches, wet sump, single 4bbl carb.

I was hoping for 2 HP per cu.in.  740 HP was my desire.  We made 3 good data pulls after a break in period heat cycle..

The best pull was 715 HP and 604 ft lbs TQ... both the HP and TQ curves are very flat,,, just like we wanted..

My motor guy said the 740HP I wanted is in there,,, not to worry about the 715HP reading on this DYNO.
(the air in the dyno was hot, the air was a bit exhaust fume"y, the dyno ran thru some big mufflers, and smaller headers. etc..)

I guess the dyno is a testing tool for him,, all that matters to me is what the motor does in the car and on the track...

I feel certain I will get over 200 at Loring and possibly 200 Maxton in 2 weeks,,, if I come up short of 200mph at Maxton is Sept, then I will add a conservative 150 shot of NOS in 4th gear in October.

Charles:

That sounds like a stout motor. On your next trip to Tampa bring your motor(s). Matt has a new Super Flo 920. I think his fan turns the air over 4 times a minute so it should be cool. We are going to put the pro stock motor on this week and do some pulls. Matt has a dyno sheet on his pro motor as a reference. My "D" motor is almost out and we will freshen it and dyno it in two weeks.

In the pictures he just installed the ballistic lexan windows and the protective cover has not been peeled off.

I wish I could make both events. Shooting for Maxton October.

Leaving in about a half hour for the 11 hour drive to Maxton. I will miss that place. Bike still not ready, I will crew for Randy Smith with his recently completed GSXR 600 this meet. Come hell or high water, I will be ready for October and so will my nephew Joe with his A/PBG750 turbo bike.
