Want To Borrow: '02-'07 Suziki Hayabusa for EMS development
« on: August 23, 2011, 12:43:34 PM »
I'm looking to borrow a stock-ish 2002-2007 Hayabusa.  It will be used for development purposes with the AEM EMS-4 (details HERE).

The factory wiring will not be modified in any way.  The fairing and other body panels will be removed to gain access to the engine, wiring, etc.  The bike will be securely mounted on a lift at all times.  The purpose of the project is to develop a plug-n-play package using the EMS-4.  This means developing an adapter harness to mate the stock wiring harness to the EMS.  Once the bike is up and running on the EMS-4, it will be dyno tuned to create a "base map" that will be provided with the finished product.  The bike will be tuned to match the power level achieved by the stock ECU.  The bike will never be ridden.

AEM is located in Hawthorne, CA.  We'd like to find a bike that's within a 2 hour drive from our facility.  Expected borrow time is 30-60 days.  Please contact me through PM if you're interested.

What does the owner of the bike get when they donate their bike to you?

We do definitely compensate for borrowed development vehicles but it's handled on a case by case basis and depends on the depth of the project, how long we're able to borrow the vehicle for, etc., but it's usually in the form of product whether it be free or discounted (again depends on the project).

If you or anyone else is interested shoot me a PM and we can hash out the details.

Paul, I think I've actually got a big change in the works.  I'm now officially looking for a roadster body so I may never get the chance to chop the sedan although I appreciate the tutorial nonetheless.

Okay, back to business here.  I'm still looking for a bike and I'd really rather work with a racer and don't want to resort to putting a "bike wanted" ad on Craigslist.   :-o

This could be a pretty good opportunity for someone considering some of the new products we have now (new data logger, 4 channel widebad O2 system, EMS-4, plus other new hush-hush stuff  ).  Let me know if anyone is interested.

Thank you for the offer John but I'm looking for something that's not quite at that level.  More stock-ish would be better.

Hey Nathan,

My white bike is stockish.  2006 Limited.  It is probably within 10hp of a stock bike.  Not sure, I haven't dyno'd it in years.  My email is Speedracer_1340@att.blackberry.net if you want the details send me a message there.  Don't want to broadcast my engine stuff :)

Blast from the past.  I'm looking for an '02-'07 Busa again.  This time its for our newer EMS system - Infinity.  There's probably a slew of these things sitting around now that it's winter, right?
