Doc ... I am sure it wasnt easy for Jim ... he just makes it look easy .... He has a bunch of years running at Maxton with smaller engine power adder bikes. He is the go to guy for fuel injection set ups ... One of the people not afraid to share his substantial knowledge ... I have no doubt that you're correct about the early success on the salf flats getting him addicted like the rest of us

From my worker post in Impound I get to see the ECTA racers roll in - frequently.  I'm pretty busy and I'm terrible at remembering numbers so I can't pull up who ran what but it's still a blast.

Had dinner with Ed Brace and his pit crew - Bill Rustang.  Great to see them both and they were doing well and going fast.

Great Week!

The guys at lsxtv.com heard about our little truck running an LSX and posted a nice article...

Kix, I second that thank you to the volunteers. They make it all possible. Here is a video from the bumper of the 2100. Let's see, 204 with a 3:50 gear, motor was still pulling and that gives me a reason to go back next year with a 3:25! :)

Charles, thanks, the car seem to handle good. I only had a couple of degrees in rear spoiler and Keith Turk told me I need to run 14 degrees. Not sure what that would do. Unlike the mile and 1.5 mile when you get close to speed at the 2 mile for the next two miles it starts to sashshay a little bit. My car did not drift from one side of the lane to the other like some people described their car was doing. The in car shows no steering input at all less the little wiggle when the chute sets under power. I left Tampa at 4,380 lbs, 52 - 48 left to right and 52 - 48 front to back. Had all kinds of weight to move around but we never go to try anything. The car peaked at 204, (GPS) with a 3.50 gear at 8,300 in 4th 1:1.  I was at about 8,000 entering mile 3 and pretty much held the throttle at 8,200 to 8,300 through 3 and 4. We also never got a chance to change a rear gear.  The handling is totally different on the fast when when the car stops accelerating. I have read about this in the Roadster threads. Same sensation they describe when the car runs out of HP. I was the most fun I have ever had in a car. Well there was that Monte Carlo back seat in high school so let's say most fun "DRIVING" a car!

I cannot wait to go next year...with the exception of cleaning everything up afterwards.

See if you can get something in between.  We were jazzed going 206 with a 3.10, went back to the cooler air of WF with a 3.00 and couldn't crack 200 until we dangerously leaned it out.  I guess 3% looks different at 200.

Got a lot of stories from Speed week, everything from my pit trailer tossing the bike on it's side before we even made rookies runs to the sensation of running against the pin with the set up and really having time to think about and feel what was going on. Wheel spin at 125, what a cross wind feels like on the salt, lots of time in impound, tearing off a cylinder head to confirm displacement, the clean up. What we've learned..... I just hope somebody will take the time to listen in October.
