If your car is built to a class, in your case C/GCC, with a 260 MPH record you have to have all the equired safety equipment for that speed. If you plan on a Time Only entry but you are similiar to an existing class, you have to build to that record. You bestbe calling on Lee Kennedy or Steve Davies in he next fewdays. They will not be available until you see them on the salt in a week or so.

Why did I mention C/GCC?

First, using the SBC moves you out of the Vintage class.
Second, there is no Comp Coupe(CC) class in the Classic Category. You did not mention removing the belly pan and replacing the modified nose you have so, I guessed at the Comp Coupe(CC) class.

Well - since we'll be doing 'TO' runs to shake down the car, looks like our system should be just fine . . .  as it will be for when the FlatCad engine debuts at WOS.  Thanks for all the help . . .

Only question left . . .  guess I'll call DJ is -- where is the best placement for the driver's nozzle . . . I'll call DJ and see what they have to say.

Thanks Rich!

This should allow us to be safe, and tech for C/GCC

Remember the rules in the book are the minimum. Just because the book says 1 10 pound system is all that is required and it can handle both places it still may not be enough for your specific car. I have an open car and have 10 on me and 5 on the engine and a record less than 175 and wear a 20 suit........Good Luck

Thanks Jimmy!

When the FlatCad is done, we won't run over 175 mph, either. We still have the heavy roll cage, parachute, SFI 20 suit, etc.

At the end of the day, the only system we don't want to have to test is the safety stuff- but if we have too, we want to be 'overbuilt', not 'underbuilt'!

I learned the hard way that the more extinguisher you can carry the better. From experience, 5lb on an engine fire does little, 10lbs in the wrong place is disappointing and a squirt from a hand held on a small turbo fire seizes the turbo blades. I now carry x2 10lb cold fire bottles - one for the driver and one for the engine area. We have two sets of nozzles over the headers (dumped 8 qts of oil there at 192mph once), and now found we need another set forward (kicked the rod out of the block in our other car this year - thank you to the rovers on course 1 who put out the flames).

Ahh experience...
