Throttle Nation Superbike Shootout

September 24-25th 2011 will mark the 6th annual motorcycle top speed event at Maxton. Once again Throttle Nation has stepped up as the sponsor of the event. Throttle Nation is a national magazine focusing on sportbikes and sportbike events. The classes and rules will remain the same for 2011 so bring your bikes and get ready for heads up racing at the Maxton Monster Mile. More details will be announced soon including the prizes for the class winners. Stay tuned here and at http://www.throttlenation.com/ for more details in the near future.
Each September, the ECTA, goes on a quest to find the fastest street bikes in America. Prizes (to be announced) are awarded for the fastest speed turned in each of six classes: 650cc all motor; 650cc plus power adder; 1000cc all motor; 1000cc plus power adder; Unlimited cc all motor; and Unlimited cc plus power adder. Power adder classes may have only one “power adder” — nitrous, turbo or supercharger — installed. All motor classes may not have any power adder installed. In addition, there is a prize offered in the target mph contest to the rider who comes the closest to the 150.000 MPH index speed, making virtually anyone with a sport bike able to get involved in this contest. The winner in each of the seven classes earns at the very least the undeniable bragging rights that go along with owning one of the indisputable fastest bikes in the country.
All entrants must be ECTA eligible and fully registered and tech-inspected for the meet. All bikes must be street registered and insured and ridden by the registered owner. Otherwise, the rules are pretty simple. To encourage the hot-rodding spirit, Shootout rules allow virtually any modifications, as long as they are street legal. The class displacements referred to the engine cases only — so if you can get 800ccs out of a 650cc motor and keep it together, you are eligible for the 650cc class.

Hope to see you at Maxton in September!!!
