Safety laws actually date back to before Christ, 1700 BC Hammurabi ruler of Babylonia made the law if you build a building, and that building should collapse and kill the dwellers son then your oldest son will be put to death. Who cares about daughters, this would make your eldest son one hell of a quality control geek.
