My wife had always told me, if I won the lottery, she is gonna take half and leave. So last week I came home handed her $11.50, with reciept and told her to pack her crap.

Good one.  If I see you on the salt at Speedweek 2024, I'll offer you a beer.  I'll be the one in a "desert sand"-colored
Toyota truck that appears to be missing most of its left front fender.  I'll bring beer and soda to give to my land speed racing
friends (and acquaintances) in this community.

Built by George Barris,
Sidewinder trike and Snakepit. the car's got 6 Ford 351's in it.

Please pardon my skepticism about its (claimed/expected/fantasized-about) ability to go anywhere near 300 mph.  But thanks for sharing.

I shall offer a small hint to all of the mechanical minds...The rear sprockets each have one way sprags in them...Think about it a moment.

That could work, then.  Just my opinion.  If not for the sprags, the thing would tend to "bind" on itself, I believe.

 YEAH, 208 +2%=212.16

Thats what we did to the 222 Camaro. Nobody has protests us or checked but we carry paperwork off the internet from looking up car specs.

Thanks, Deepindebt and MRK.  I now have two-count-them-two patches from 2023!  I got the '24 item already so now the sewing fun begins.

I wonder if any more will arrive. . .

Aerodynamics / C/GALT Body Stretch??
« Last post by 71GSSDemon on April 24, 2024, 09:19:17 PM »
So I was reading in the 2023 rule book.  It says in C/GALT you can stretch the front ahead of the firewall a maximum of 2%.  So on a car with a 208" overall length, does this mean I can stretch the front end sheet metal 4.16" as long as it doesnt add streamlining?  Like a Torino Talladega or Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II cars (yes Mercury went 6" but you get it)?  Overall unless making it to impound it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Yes?

World of Speed-specific stuff / Re: USFRA Test and Tune 2024
« Last post by USFRAMONTE on April 23, 2024, 11:06:48 PM »
We have decided to hold the Test and Tune regardless of the number of entries. Of course Mother Nature will have the final say.
This will provide an opportunity to get licensed, qualify to run on the long course, have your vehicle inspected, make some tuning runs and work out any bugs the vehicle may have. Just be aware this is not an event to qualify for or set any records.
We will also be offering runs for both the 130 and 150 mph clubs.
There will not be any gasoline or fuel available on the salt so you will need to bring your own supply.
We hope to see several of you there and hope for good weather and track conditions.
