Sun is up and sky is clear. Not warm outside, feels like high 40-s. Forecast is for high 70-s. The bike tech crew met last night and we have 8 inspectors which is an all time high. There are 77 bikes pre entered and 58 cars. Tim came up with a jumbo-tron that is about 8' x 15' that they will post speeds on. We will open motorcycle tech line at 0830. There were a lot of racers already here when I arrived yesterday at 1530. Some nice cars. Looking for good weather throughout the weekend.

Karl was here with the Texas TFA crew ... I used their Lone Star flag for a wind indicator as it was a little closer and easier to see then the wind sock. Maybe because it was 40 high. Bill Franey brought his Harley stroker up from Ohio ... Dave Perewitz brought out a big inch Harley with a Pro Charger. His daughter rode it through her licensing procedure. Beautiful machine. Looks and sounds great. Ricky Gadsten made some runs over 200 with a couple of Kawasaki-s he brought. Maine Barons had the yellow coupe there. Great event.

The bike tech line ran exceptionally well Friday and Saturday morning. I want to express my personal appreciation for all the hard work done by the bike inspection team. We had a briefing at 0930 for the tech team and everyone understood their assignment. We had 1st-2nd-3rd inspectors assigned as well as tire date and condition inspectors assigned
The best tech team, in no particular order;
John Donovan, Phil Campbell, Dean Sabatinelli, Bill Franey, Lloyd Frink, Texas Brenda from TFA, *Derrick, *Bill, *Frank, my brother Tom Daly, my nephews Joe and Cliff Daly, plus one other *gentleman whose name I forget. They inspected 70 bikes Friday and the inspections were thorough and great attention was paid to detail. (* please send me your last name and contact information. We would love to have you again next year).
Some observations from the meet;
1 out of 4 street bikes had something loose on the bike. Race machines were better prepared, which just makes sense. Most competitors do not safety wire correctly and we did a lot of correction on the line with this. Metal valve stems on 175mph machines a problem on 5 machines. All 5 took the bikes into the Presque Isle Kawasaki dealership and had metal stems installed. 3 racers with 2000 Snell helmets, once again Presque Isle Kawi made out.
Good observations;
All bikes requiring steering dampers, had them. All competitors had correct gloves. Not one out of date tire.

I would personally like to thank the entire crew and the volunteers who worked the Loring meet. It was first class and very professional. I can't say enough!

The bike inspection process was great, just as thorough as Maxton but 3 times faster.
Kudos to all involved!!! :cheers:
