Pretty neat day out at El Mirage, as we were privileged to see two roadsters break through the 250mph barrier. First up was the #911 Cummins Beck Davidson A Blown Fuel Roadster running a very impressive 251mph. About an hour or so later the #66 BMR Roadster with Alan Fogliadini at the wheel bested his own 2008 249mph record with a top speed of 250mph. I'm not sure if these are the two fastest roadsters ever on dirt, but my hats off to both teams for coming out and making two incredible passes.
Here's the video of each pass. Sorry for the poor quality, as I shot it with my little digital camera and I was trying to watch the runs at the same time.

Thanks for capturing these spectactular runs for us to see.
Has anyone a video of Fogie's run from the starting line? I heard it was spectacular!

Wow!!!! Those suckers are fast
The BMR roadster appears to run faster than the other - must be the angle they footage has been shot.

As roadsters go they are the 2 fastest blown and unblown "hiboys"; but have a little to go for all roadsters as Modifieds are 280 and 274..............Great job by both..................JD

It was fun to watch today!!! Kind of a shoot out between the 2 roadsters. 250mph for BMR and 251mph for the 911, absolutely amazing!!!

to say the least! i saw the side of the car multiple times as it was heading down the track. i'm damn surprised it didn't come around on him but alan obviously had it handled. totally amazing. 250 mph.... UNBLOWN. insane.

Speaking of John Beck -- keep your eyes open for a Bill Hoddinott interview with John in an upcoming Bonneville Racing News. The interview is complete - won't include anything on this past weekend, I suppose -- but is going to be a good story about the technical content of the car, as well as all of the other stuff. Wendy Jeffries (BRN publisher and chief cook and bottle washer) is kind enough to run the paper for all of us to enjoy - and since there's a BRN ad on this site I don't feel bad at all about asking you folks to subscribe to it if you don't already.
There's more to say -- but Nancy just put the pizza on the table. Later -
