Hello all,
We at the LTA have an announcement to make.
Loring AFB will be hosting a "Texas Mile" type of event in September.
It will be called The Speed Shootout. www.speedshootout.com (http://www.speedshootout.com)
The people that run the base have asked us, The Loring Timing Association, to scrutinize and oversee any racing events proposed for the facilites. They have had several inquiries and we feel it best to be directly involved to avoid problems and to reduce the risk of everyone getting kicked off the facility. So, the inaugeral SPEED SHOOTOUT will be held September 16-18. The LTA will be responsible for the timing.
Rest assured that this event will have no effect on The Maine Event and amoung the classes will be an LSR event to allow all of the LSR guys to run in their respective classes.
Please help with your message boards, clubs, and mailing lists to help spread the word!

Here's a quick note about the Shootout: In a day or two I'll set up a "child board" for the Shootout so it'll be easy to find and chat about that particular event without getting mixed up with the LTA event for July. Stay tuned -- be safe, have fun, go fast.

Could be 75, could be 27. We got 4 inches of snow Wednesday. (latest ever)

last year sept 16-18th Limestone had a high of 67, a low of 38F, no precip.
I'd be up for it, but doing WOS on the same weekend.
Honestly, it is a bit late in the year for Maine, but certainly doable.

I had planned for WOS as well, pending confirmation there is room for my car in Bill R's Hauler.

my wife will come in and see what i'm doing on the computer. i showed her the aerial pics of the track and told her i really want to do lsr. she's an ER nurse. i got the look....cat scan to see if anything is up there. but...she didn't say no. :-D :cheers:

I know what you mean. Both my wife and I work she spends her money on what she wants and I don't complain. When I go to spend on my car she says I'm wasting our money. The money I make she feels is half hers. My half is for paying the bills. :-P

Took my wife to maxton 2 1/2 years ago. she didn't want to leave, actually got mad 'cause we left. I told her weshe could race her car (Kia Spectra) and she was happy until a truck ran over her Kia. Now we are building '91 camaro for HER to race and she complains that we need to get the car done for the May meet. Gotta love em. 8-) 8-)

The Speed Shootout is being combined with the LTA Harvest event due to the requests of our LSR racers for more track time.

who care what it is called or who sanctions it.... I want more track time and they are gonna let us do it
