Title: Omega-class question...
Post by: Frank06 on December 29, 2010, 03:38:54 PM
Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm contemplating an electric-motored motorcycle for LSR and am trying to get the class rules straight.  I've done a couple of conversions and have always used a stock frame.  Obviously I can't run Production and Modified Production states the engine must be from the same manufacturer as the frame.  Does this mean that bikes with a stock or lightly-modified frame using an electric motor for propulsion would fall into Altered?

Advice appreciated!

thanks,
Frank

Electric bikes have their own class rules.

??

Any hints on where I might find these?  I have a 2009 rules book, was there something specific in the 2010 book?

2010 rule book, page 128, 7.J.13 is a good place to start.

OK, the '09 rulebook (same section) says "the entry must comply with all applicable frame class requirements" and that powerplant details must be submitted for review.  Is there more in the 2010 rulebook?

thanks

That's pretty much it.  Have fun.
