Title: Courtney Hizer
Post by: Bob Drury on December 01, 2010, 04:22:20 PM
For those of you who don't allready know, longtime Bonneville racer and 200 mph club member Courney Hizer is having very serious health problems.
The family is not accepting phone calls at this time, however, cards may be sent to:
                      Courtney Hizer
                       10 Jefferson Drive
                         Rome, Georgia
                                      30165
Courtney is a great guy, and many of you have shared cigars and possibly a coctail or two with him.
He could really use some good cheer, so how about sending him a card or two.
                                                                 thanx, Bob

For those who don't know, Courtney has terminal brain cancer, so encouraging messages or reminding him of past hijink's would be helpfull.       Thanx, Bob

Thank's Paul.  Courtney was a true Southern Gentleman.
As a racer, He could have set a lot more records by copying other's, but he liked to innovate and march to a different drummer.
I will miss him, his cigars, and visiting with his charming wife Vila.
Rest in peace Courtney.  I am sure you can buy Cubans in Heaven.               Bob

I'm saddened to hear about Courtneys passing. Although I'd only got to speak with him a handful of times, he was a real delight and always happy to spend some time chatting. His friends and family will be in our prayers. Godspeed Courtney.

Donnie,
You and all of the crews on the salt were the stories for GA.
I will be there this year to make sure we will all know that someone is watching over us while
we reach for a few more MPH's.
I will let let you know the arrangements but I can tell you that it will be a service
for stories about Courtney.
Paul

I just merged all three of the threads about Mr. Hizer - into this one.  I didn't know him - but from what I have read here -- I wish I had.  May he rest in peace.
