Hey all you ECTA brothers and sisters, our board has been slow since the last event of our season.
What are you working on? New Build ? Re Build ? Performance Upgrades ? Safety Upgrades ? etc..
Share your stuff with us !!
I am working on some aero improvements to the Studebaker, as well as ideas to increase horsepower. Also should be adding a driver cooling system and new SA2010 Helmet soon (maybe Christmas Present ??)
Hope to hear from you all.
Have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

I should have the new Escort home on Sunday to start getting it squared away. More detailed plans will emerge when it's in a million pieces in the garage.
-
Walt, it's now confirmed that Nancy and I will be on the road, not at work, when you go through Marquette County tomorrow afternoon. Maybe next time?
-
The 996 duc transformation should begin shortly. My heavy steel chainguard is supposedly ready for pickup. As for all the changes, I just have to decide what's first. I would like to get a real land speed body on her asap prior to cutting down the tank and lowering the chassis. I would also like to have data acquisition by April. I need to determine what fuel I am going to run and get her tuned to it. I want to upgrade the bearings and go to a 520 quick-change sprocket system by April as well.
Plenty to keep me occupied. I may give her a quick outing this weekend at the drag strip prior to the changes getting underway.

Milt keep us posted.

8 new sleeves, 8 pistons and rods with a few extra spares.

Hi,
We had a great session on the chassis dyno, chasing our 700r4 gremlins. The trans is out, the Firebird is back in my shop (before the snow) and life is good. We'll be getting ready to greet the 2011 rule book changes - seat upgrades and all.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

I am doing a total make over .I am going over the fairings and smoothing out the front.I am making the rear body out of aluminum and cleaned up the wiring harness.
Once all that is mocked up and finished . I will tear it down and paint it. Then it is on to a motor program .I am thinking three motors .Two nitrous motors and a N/A motor to chase gas records.
I have the tank and the frame done. Now I have to finish the body work stuff. I hate sanding and dust. :-D

Since the KIA Amy WAS racing at the mile got run over by a big ol silverado we are "forced" to start a new build. The camaro gods smiled on us with a "91 that's good and straight. The first thing that has to go are the t-tops which will facilitate the roll cage install. we are still struggling with what class to run. I still say the "82 to "92 camaro should fit the sports classes in that no full size adult I know could fit in the "back seat". see y'all in April with the new ride. :-D :-D :-D
-
Shame about the KIA . It was cool to see it run. Camaro will be a fun build. It should be fun to watch the progress.
-
Eric, Of course the new body work looks fabulous. Can't wait to see what you get donewith plenty of time. Is that plane drawing in the background pen on linen? I've seen some art quality surveys and construction/engineering plans done that way.
-
Ken Who has plenty of time? :-)
That is just an old set of paper plans. From a Radio Control airplane. Most plans are done on napkins and stained with beer. :-D

My Stude was designed on a napkin and pizza box...lol\

Beer and napkins are a design kit you can get in the bar. Pizza boxes are like an advanced CAD program. Plus you can do 3D modeling with the Pizza box. But you still need plenty of napkins as support.

I'm working on a new turbo bike project with a GSXR 600. Raked, lowered, long frame with a Charlie Toy fairing.

Eric, yes we would make a good team. Keep in mind the white outlines...
Also fun road trips.

I am looking at everything on the bike ... I am missing 20 mph and it has to be hidden somewhere ... I have until April to find it ...
Charles --- isnt it about time for you to build another car?

I think he's saving it up to become a salt racer.

Looks like April will be the last outing for my B motor. Made a deal with the devil and picked up a 540BBC that will be attached to a small (106mm) turbo. I still want to hit 200 with the LT1 before I sell it - and I have no $$ - so I'll run it in April then probably be out the rest of the season shoehorning the big block into the 96 fbird.

Shoehorning= cutting out the inner fenders, alot of the firewall, the cowl, etc etc... :)

Started a build post on the Datsun 280Z we are slowly working on. Still going to run the Karmann Ghia at Maxton and may be able to take both cars out to the salt this coming year. Fingers crossed.

Just put a deposit down for a Airtech S&S LSR fairing for the 996. Could take some serious modifications but that is all part of the fun, right! I have a corvette/plastic specialist waiting to get a shot at the it! :-o
-
just a mock up to test fit some parts. But this is my Cafe Ninja.
-
RChop- Good concept, have fun adapting the fairing to your bike and then to you also.
MiltonP- Will you at least paint the LSR Fairing red and white and use some Ducati decals so we remember what it is? Wait, all you have to do is start the engine and we will know.
Eric- Ninja 250 looks supiciously like a very fast cafe racer. Can't wait to see it painted.
Meanwhile I need to modify my Nitrous bottle holder to be able to fit a bottle heater wrap directly against the bottle yet still fit under the tail section. In October I could not get the bottle to warm up enough to get to my pressure goal. That's safer but not as powerful. My first idea is to cut out some of the sheet metal in the middle to give room for the wrap there.
I may also go to a velocity stack for 2011. Not much else planned for the Honda 250.

My next door neighbor Andy Hellmandollar and I started on his 95 GMC A/BMP. We are planning on starting with BBC 461 in front of AT400/205 TC with 2.28s in the axles.

Hey Sparky, how many projects have you got going? Seems to me there was a lakester, a bike, now a truck and as I remember there's also a streamliner somewhere in the mix. Some people are having way too much fun! :-D :-D :-D
Pete
-
The Liner is on hold for parts and sainity reasons, The bike is Joey's. The truck is Andy's and I will be the eng partner---all 3 of us are courious about Turbos---the truck will have more room for us to learn with primitive & crude systems. Will not have to deal with and spend so much time with packaging as we learn about turbo and 4x4 syestems. Then Eng is a bunch of stuff I have acquired over the years ( a very wery low buck EBAY type eng.
I have some old speed pro 4.28 blower pistons and my repaired 4" crank for a 461 and I have my repaired 4.25 crank and some 6.135/496 or 6.385/438 pistons and we will use the EFI system I ran on Ratical.
I have some old early Dart Iron Eagle heads and my Holley efi manifold. With a recon turbo I scrounged at a truck wrecking yard in Dallas for a 600 Hp Detriot Diesel--- we are going to see if we can light it off.
-
Sparky, keep us posted on the engine portion of the build.... details details my friend.
Charles

I finished the paint on the frame and now I am putting the bike back together . Sorry Charles No Black . It was a tough call. But in the end I went with silver.I a going to use a dark red with white out line for all the graphics. I still have to do the fairings. But the bike is back on its wheels and the wiring and plumbing are going in.
-
Eric, looking good,,,, I like Silver too...Red and White on Silver is cool looking as well...
You have been busy,,, keep us posted....
I am working on Step Pan, Lower Ride Height, More Rake, and Hoping to Add a Cooler Suit Cooling system and blower after Christmas. (need to see if Santa gets me any of the parts I need or a new Helmet..SAH2010 with provisions for forced air cooling)
Talk soon and keep us posted.

Looks great guys, nice work.
I'm doing a few things to the ZX10s, but just incremental changes. On the turbo I had the shock resprung and revalved, and will install an airshifter. The nitrous bike will get a tuneup for a bit bigger pill and different gearing.
Biggest change for me this winter is the arrival of my son Benjamin, born last Sunday, I couldn't be happier. He and mom Leslie are happy and healthy. A merry merry Christmas :-D
Dean
-
Congratulations to you    and Leslie. This will be one of many wonderful holidays.
-
Congrats to you and Leslie, Dean.
Word from Airtech is that my S&S fairing will be ready shortly after New Years. Then comes the fun of figuring out how much to lower the 996 followed shortly by doing a chop job on the fairing to get it to fit. Then we can open up an intake for the ram air and work on the airbox... In the meantime, my overbuilt steel chainguard came back from the welder and fit just fine so I can amuse myself grinding, sanding, filing, priming and painting that over the holidays.

Wow Dean, now that is cool!!! Thrilled to hear of your new addition to the family.
But then I'm afraid the thread title would be more accurate if it said "Spring, Summer, and Fall Build". However we are all sure it is an "Upgrade"!

I am 7 months into the conversion of the 88 Camaro {SCCA/SCCA hill Climb car} . Went to Bonneville last year and was hooked. Engine will be ready in two weeks and the car is almost ready. So new headers to fab and then to the Dyno. Will run B/GALT this next year. Plan is to run all events at Maxton, N.H and one Texas. Set back and look at where we are and head west for Speed week and WOS in 2012. Changing a very competitive roadracer into a LSR was a challenge. I have piles of coolers and ducts and 100s of feet of braided lines that just are not needed. We had also run this puppy in open road races so there was a second seat and lots of navigation gear ,that had to come out. So there is a Petty bar where my Navigator used to sit and the Gurney flap is gone from the spoiler. The heads up display is gone and I would guess the spring rates are a little off. But scales and a tape will fix that once this engine is in. It has also been really interesting at how different a 400 inch road racing motor and a 400 inch LSR motor
are. My fuel cell went from 31 gallons to 3 and we did retain the old cell for a ballast tank. Something I picked up on real quick at the salt last year. I am still fussing with the oil system. I went back and read all the old reports I could find. I noticed that Keith had trouble pumping oil to the top of the motor and was suffering from a lost of pressure at the end of a mile in his 400. We have done some creative oil passage work and I plan on a 8 Quart pan with a 3 quart accumulator. I hope that will do the trick. I want to thank you again for the help on the chute. Bob Stroud was a really big help. I went with the spring launcher. I don't like it. I think the gas launcher would be better. I was trying to apply the KISS principle. I might change that after April. Other than the launcher he built me a chute just the same as yours. Copying is the highest form of flattery.
Bob Cox
-
Bob,
sounds like the conversion to LSR is coming along quite well.... You will like the spring launcher for the tracks with long shutdowns like Maxton and Loring (the Salt too) at Texas you may feel like a quicker deployment is needed, but I don't think you will need the air launcher.. Only seat time will tell.
Hope to see you in April,,,, if you need info or need to chat just drop me an email.

Hello Bob,
We're running B/BGALT and B/BFALT with a 87 Firebird Bracket car. The aero aspects have been the big learning curve. Sounds like your trip to Utah has given you a leg up on getting ready for Maxton. If there is any additional info that we might help with, please give us a shout.
Have a great Christmas and we'll see you in NC.

It looks like my Hayabusa powered H/FL will be ready for the first or second meet at Maxton in 2011. This is a new car that I have been working on since 2007. So I guess that makes it an old new car? It's different as lakesters go, it is a front engined car with a chopped Legends coupe body. It looks like a 5/8 scale comp. coupe. Stock Busa for now, turbo charged later. By the way I need a wiring harness modified for a car, can anyone help?

Let the fun begin. Amy and I started the tear down of the camaro and were pleasantly surprised that there was no rot in the floors of the T-topped car. :-D Shes doing the car while I go through the engine and trans. Racing seat and Roll cage are next to beat up on the wallet.
I would include some pic's ain't got it figured out how to do it on this site.
-
Long ways to go !!
-
That is cool-o-matic! Looks like a fun car just for cruising in town. But -- change it here and there for the Salt and it'll still be great, I betcha. Happy Holidays.
-
Thanks, the guys and I are gonna have some fun this year trying to make this thing run.....We really want to see what we can do with a little injected Nitro later on.....should be fun.....

Well -
The Buzz Bomb is STILL untouched since the engine fire, other than I got it off the trailer. I'm going to install a fuel cell (it's sitting here in the office) and replumb the fuel system. I think I have most of the electrical bits gathered up and I need to run the new fuel lines and so on before I'll know what I need for regulators, etc.
But a couple of roadblocks are in the way. First of all, I'm still going to Florida every third month to take care of Mom. This is good news, as it means that she's responding to chemo WAY better than anyone (including the docs) could have predicted in their wildest dreams.
Also, David Perris (Rack4U on Bangshift, sometime Maxton volunteer, and owner of the Sharpie Nova) found me a complete mezzanine kit for the shop. So I've been to Columbus, Ohio in the past week and have a car trailer full of 4,660 lbs. of structural steel. I REALLY have to get this erected and organize the shop with storage overhead and floor space reassigned to it's original purpose. The shop has gotten to where it's almost unusable and "cleaning up" amounted to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
So the goal is to get the shop usable and the Buzz Bomb back in it's pre-fire condition, with improvements. If there's ANY spare time I'll paint the Camaro, too. Wish me luck!

I`m in the middle of tearing my car down and getting the body ready for paint. Many parts will still need to be painted, plated, and powder coated and I still haven`t decided on the body colors and how the car will look when finished. A few more mechanical details still need to be worked out, but most of the problems have been solved. I`ve still got to build a trailer, but that shouldn`t be any problem. It just takes time and money, something most of us never seem to have enough of.

Charles my 33 coupe is officially retired from racing after my trip to B'ville Speedweek and the Goodguys drag race at Bowling Green in Oct. (the car was a awarded the most nostalgic race car there!) I ran 184.383 MPH at B'ville with one closed header valve (it showed open inside the car) and a best of 9.48 @ 138 MPH in the quarter. It was also on the Gearz tv show this year!
The nice thing is I carried my wife to dinner in it (with the air on) the weekend I got back from B'ville!! I couldn't ask for the car to perform any better.
That said the 540 street motor is coming out (gas mileage is awful even with a 2.47 gear) and going into a model T coupe that I plan on bringing to Maxton to run in the street class. I'll put a hydraulic cammed 427 back in the 33 just to drive on the street and carry it to car shows and what not.
A word about B'ville, the racers are wonderful to help you and the inspectors were great but going there as a rookie with a new homebuilt car is not for the faint of heart, I made so many unessasary trips between all the registration trailers trying to figure out what I needed to do on top of the stress of worrying about the car passing inspection and being 1800 miles from home with a small crew on top of that. I burned a full tank of gas in a salt encrusted rental car pulling the coupe back and forth (changing jets) from the pits to the rookie course and getting signed off for each license that I was totally stressed at the end of each day!! It was a dream come true but sometimes fulfilling dreams can be overwhelming!!
One mistake I made is that my car was street legal and I wanted to drive it into Wendover to the car show on the weekend but I couldn't do that without going through inspection each time and that wasn't an option as that was a several hour ordeal.
Another point to make to B'ville rookies... the salt is SLICK and the wind will blow you around at speed!! (make your passes early if possible) My first pass at speed scared me to death when a gust of wind pushed the car over to the edge of the track in a moment and that's a whole lot less than a second!! I had to get off the gas, steer the car back to the middle and hit the gas again!! Not fun!! You really have to be ready for anything!!! Luckily I grew up driving on gravel roads and that's what it was it like, driving on a gravel road at 180 MPH! Build big weight boxes in the right places and bring plenty of lead to hold your car down!!
That said about B'ville.... my experience at Maxton was a wonderful one, thank you Joe, Donna, Keith and Tonya for making it that way. I won't be going back to B'ville.
Charles how fast do you think a model T coupe will go with a 540 in it? ha

You may have had issues other than wind. You may have had issues other than wind.
No disrespect, you are one of many, myself included (my cars handling problems were well documented on this site) who find out that a car that handles fine on pavement has issues at B'ville or El M, like scrub radius or chassis flex.
-
Sparky what I based my experience on was, the two passes I made early in the morning (7:30 and 7:45)at speed when the course flags were barely moving the car ran straight with only manageable skittering around but the passes I made in the car midday when the flags were laying over in a westerly direction when I went over 175 MPH the car shot across the track two times with me in the same direction as the wind.... and I'll admit it did scare me! I just wish the Quick Time header valve hadn't broken on me and I would have got all the speed out of the engine that it was capable of.
I'm including a picture of the chassis and one of the broken header valve, you can see where the exhaust pressure bent it partially open, no doubt it restricted the air flow through the motor.

That is what happens .When the LSR BUG bites you. Your motorcycle looses its seat, gas tank top and all resemblance to its former self. Cant wait to see it run.

Happy new year

Well hello and happy new year to everyone.
I am just starting on this years projects for the car.
I am going to try several new pieces and see where that leads to among the changes are- a new header,a bigger turbo(have already run it on the old header, very impressive),possibly a full exhaust(depends what the dyno says),we have done some aero work(I am going to try and get to a2 before we race it again to see if we made it better or worse),more aero work forth coming, freshend motor, reg. maintenance, several general improvements to the car to make life easier at the track, new oil pan, possibly upgrading the entire fuel system(AGAIN), and I'm sure I missed a couple more things.
I am going to try and make the April Maxton race, loring, oct Texas mile, quite a few local drag passes, a couple of big drag races, and possibly a couple of other things thrown in for good measure.
P.S.-probably also adding an E.G.T. data logger.
Mike Reichen

Mike,, no problem on the GPS,,, anytime... the 33 did good.. 180+ is good and 9.48 in the 1/4 mile,,, nice for sure.
I pulled the 255 cu. in. E motor out of the 33 Vicky and put it in the Studebaker,,, the Vicky now has a mild 370 cu in.. 11 to 1 pump gas motor in it,,, Ran at Zmax 11.00 at 126mph in second gear with a 3.70 rear gear.. now has a 4.56 locker in rear and should do very well if it will hook with 10" slicks.. I am guessing high 9's

Nice paint may be pretty, but a cut-down tank is practical.
Is that a Tiger Racing front fender?

Good eyes! That's a Tiger front fender that has been "split, chopped, & stretched" to fit a Rocket 3 (with BST rims). I'm doing the same to a full fairing as none exist for this bike.
It's a messy job... but somebody has to do it. 8-)
-
Gonna be there in April?
-
The Airtech S&S bodywork showed up at the Ducati shop finally this morning but it will be at least a week before we get all the parties involved together tp stare at it and the bike and figure out how we are going to fit it to the 996. Plays in line with my financial recovery from having to replace my furnace but it does put being ready for April at risk. In any case it will be nice to start making progress beyond stripping the street hardware.
-
Hey Milt, if it doesn't get finished, show up naked, it will be fun and provide a good comparison to the new bodywork.
This weekend it will be 70+ degrees and sunny, and baby boy & Mom are in Chicago visiting family. What a guy to do but wander out to the garage and keep busy?
:-D

Gonna be there in April?
Let's see how the dyno work goes... no one has ever put a C38-91 blower on an R3 before. :-o
I know you're a Triumph fan, so I'll keep you posted.
-
Hey Dean, If you remember, can you bring that extra LSR fender you acquired to the April meet? Airtech didn't want to make/ship me one until we fit the bodywork and had a feel for what would fit the duc's fork. If the one you have has a shot at working I will likely go ahead and buy it off you. I plan to bring the duc in one form or another. I have held off on all performance work waiting to do aero first but I might sneak a change or two in plus some tuning if I end up having to put bodywork mods on hold.
-
What a glorious day! 70 degrees and a day off from work and wife out of town! As Dean said, the shop beckoned. Sure was nice to leave the door open, sun and heat streaming in, and rock and roll music streaming out. I stripped off the front and rear fairings and pulled off the NOS bottle holder. I opened it up some to make room for the bottle heater to fit directly against the bottle inside the sleeve-type bottle holder. Not sure if I will run Nitrous in April but I want to be ready for the cold temperatures if I do.
Now that I have a better inner rear fender I have pulled off my air filter to just run a velocity stack. But that means I have to totally rejet. What a pain on my engine as I can barely reach the carburetor on this little bike. Oh well, can't be helped.
I even adjusted my speedometer based on trap speed on timing slip vs displayed. What a glorious day!
-
I'll bring it Milt.
Have fun Jarl.
-
Just in case I missed something, I wanted to mention that I am planning to reinforce body mount locations on the Airtech bodywork with carbon or carbon/kevlar cloth since I doubt we will be using the original mount locations. I am thinking about steel Full-bore Super Buttons for the fasteners and am debating mounting bracket material. The plan/hope is to take her to BUB in 2012 and expose her to all that nice corrosive salt. I may ignore that issue initially and focus getting the fit taken care of and then upgrade/modify for the salt as needed. Any recommendations from the folks here who taken their bikes to the salt? I remember hearing stories about finding salt still hiding in nooks and crannies a year later. The brackets could be the least of my problems considering how accessible it is. Could be the only parts left a few years later!
:-o

Does ECTA require a HANS device at Maxton for cars this year??
-
Does ECTA require a HANS device at Maxton for cars this year??
Hans is just one brand of HNR ! (if you are required or choose to use an HNR there are several sfi approved manufacturers and models to choose from.
What speed do you feel you will run ?
Over 200 HNR's are required (I think) 175 to 200 is highly encouraged.. I have not got my 2011 Rule book yet.

Thank you for the help, first time out with a new car the speed is not my main focus. I will be happy to go straight and come to a stop with all of the parts that I left the starting line with still on the car. When I do get it sorted out I would be happy with 140 -150 mph at Maxton.

Good luck and if you need anything just holler....
as to HNR,,, at your projected speeds a HNR is not required... your choice,,, I would make sure you follow the side to side lateral movement rules and also at least wear the horse collar.

I delayed committing funds for a week due to the potential for the gov't closure. While I am glad wearen't shutting down next week, the ext of two weeks doesn't exactly free me of concern. I have only taken 2 hours off since Thanksgiving so I definitely plan on being there but I may end up in the spectator/volunteer lineup versus running. Just not sure yet. If conditions look excellent I may end up bringing the 500 to try and bump its reord to get one in the book at Maxton with my new team name. The Duc has no shot at anything there.
-
Still working
-
The new bodywork definitely won't be ready for the spring events but if I get my electrical problem resolved I will run the duc with either a upper or naked. I haven't run over 75 on a unfaired bike so I am tempted to go that route for the experience. If the electric problem is unresolved the 500 will likely make a reappearance.
-
I am getting there. I do everything myself mostly because I can't afford to pay someone else .and because I like to do things. But I had a couple things I can't handle. So I am having others do the work. Is it me or is it normal for people to say it will take two weeks to do smathing and then having it take two months? The thing is I knew it would take two months.so it is no big deal.
-
No, I don't think it's normal for someone to say two weeks and have it take two months. I'd say "normal" procedure is to say two weeks -- and have it take at least FOUR months :-D.
-
Eric,, yes it takes much longer to do Smathing than something,,, for some reason it just does.
Unless it's me,, If I tell you two weeks,, it means 10 days...(but of course,, that is from the start date,, LOL)
See you in 3 weeks.

Rods and pistons shipped.

Engine installed and body work started.

It could be worse Eric.. The taxidermy on my wife's 40lb. bobcat (taken with a '97 Toyota Camry) was going to be 6 months. Eighteen months later we had it. Leslie was a bit disapointed that she couldn't get Hello Kitty, but the work was amazing.
-
I am not complaining .I allow for this sort of thing. But I can't imagine having to have everything done by different company's and people. I guess that is why bigtime records are so hard to get.
-
No big time money here. Motor in, motor out. Sub frame connectors go in tomorrow, cage starts sunday. wife running the fuel plumbing. dogs in the way. rain on my head. Now Dats fun. :-D

Is that the biggest bike at Maxton? :-o 2.3 liter plus the supercharger it must pull like a freight train. I cant wait to see it run .

Yea, no kidding, Looks like he might need some sort of "roll cage" thingy around that beast

It Runs, Electrical gremlins from Bonneville have been finally Banished! (for now).
Seems like every year I go to the salt I eat an Alternator. When it was a Daily Driver this Truck was never a problem, routine maintenance.
Here's a crappy picture of the Man Cave Shrine to LSR

See Y'all in April
-
You're probably right Eric. The Golden Knights will probably want to jump off of it when it takes off.
-
Well, it looks like I'm not going to make it to the April meet. I ordered rocker arms for the blower motor back in October and I still haven't gotten them, my money back, or an answer when I call. I believe I got ripped off for $2,500! That hurts really bad. :xHopefully I can make a later meet. I may still come down to cheer/ voulunteer.
-
Roddy, I am sorry to hear about the rocker arm deal and that you won't have the car ready for the April meet.
If you need my persuasive powers or my resources to help "MOTIVATE" them to get your money back or your rocker arms,, let me know,,,
Also, I always need help in my pit.. so if you come down,,, I will sure welcome the help and oh yes,, I have plenty of shade and drinks with me... Pepsi products of course (no diet coke in my pits....lol)

-
Charles, thanks for the sympathy. I have filed complaints with the proper authorities, hopefully the situation can be resolved. As for your offers, I may just take you up on the Pepsi.
-
I will stock the cooler with regular and diet drinks.
Now I am in a mad thrash,,, Last fall I made a removable cross member and had it powder coated, it was made to help support a step pan for the Stude... I went down to my shop to measure so I could shear, drill and mount the step pan.. but to my surprise,, I can't find that darn BRIGHT RED CROSSMEMBER... I guess I may run April without a step pan,, well probably do not need it for the Mile,,, but I am sure I will need it for
Loring and Bonneville.. ok back to the search.

Have you checked to see if you've already bolted it in the car???
I find as I become more mature I do things like that!

Might be under the car awaiting your attention. I too find age and memory do not mesh well.
-
I have torn both my shops apart looking for it and no luck,,,
PJ,, I did look under the car and NOPE it's not already installed,,,
When the sun comes up, I will look in the race trailer... no reason for it to be there,, but I batter look there too...
Oh well...I am sure it will be in the last place I look ( ya know as once I find it, I will quit looking )

Just over 2 weeks to go. I am getting my Honda 250 ready. Not much changed over the winter. Rebuilt the water pump which blew a seal. I have placed a velocity stack on the carb rather than a restrictive air filter. I also improved the efficiency of the nitrous bottle heater so I could use it on a cool morning if needed. Not sure I will run NOS in April. Now off to the dyno next tuesday to rejet for the improved intake flow. Of course I'm also curious what the RWHP is now since the last time on the dyno was May 2009. I may test the nitrous on the dyno as well. Sorry but the Honda will not be any quieter in April. It seems to like the straight pipe length for resonance. I did put my bike number on the front of the fairing to make it easier for the starter to call it in to the tower.
My 1954 Moto Parilla 175 is stripped apart on the workbench with many upgrades planned for May meet. See everyone soon.

Almost...might make the May race.....
