Chad M's first run nets a new P-P 1000 record of 202 on the KWS/PitBull BMW. Love that cool late Oct. air. No trick, just a treat. LSL

It was COLD this morning...I arrived at the track at 7:30am and it was 37 degrees with a 5 to 7 mph crossing tail wind. The best I can remember it was about 10:00am when I made my first run. The Kawasaki Teryx did not push as Hard as I needed, but it was a smooth and straight run. I entered my E motor up in motor class to
D/CGALT and the run was 162.2xxx and set the record by 5.xxx mph.
The second run, hoping for 170.000 (so I could class up again to cover the C record at 168.xxx...) I came off the push plate a bit to aggressive and the rear end danced out (real far) not wanting to lose any rpms I stayed in it dirt track style and grabbed second as I got her straight again.. all was smooth from second on.. I am sure all the dirt tracking slowed my exit speed, but I did bump the record up to 164.8xxx...
Long stint in the pit after impound to fix the fan (it came unplugged and did not work on that pass) and also re jet and set valve lash and timing..I was not able to make a 3rd run

Hi All,
Well I've just had my first visit and WOW
Thanks to everyone who listened to my dumb question, and just chated.
I've uploaded the few pic's I had time to take to my Flickr photostream, so if you look for "Vin Riders" photostream or search for "Maxton Queeziryder" you should find them.
Wishing you all an excellent 2011 especially 'Push Rod Tim' and the 250 guys.

Awesome weather all weekend. We had a great turn out ..lots of race cars and bikes,, I did not get a count but it looked like we had a good number of spectators on Saturday and a few on Sunday.
My in car camera did not record my second run on Saturday, I am not sure if I got it turned on since I was already wearing my gloves when I hit the shutter switch, or if the vibrations from the wicked launch shut it off.
If anyone has any pics or video of my car, please drop me a line,
I hope everyone has a good off season/ winter,, see you all back at Maxton in April,,, "are we there yet" !!!
Charles
-
Charles,
Don't keep use in suspense, how did you do on Sunday?
-
Looks like the records, points and run log are up at http://www.ecta-lsr.com/?page_id=142
-
Average of 1 Minute 39 Seconds on Saturday, and 1 Minute and 33 Seconds on Sunday, for Time between runs.
Remember that next time you get in line and count the "vehicles" (and cones) in front of you.
Kudos to the Line Stewards and Starters for keeping things moving.
-
I would like to thank everyone who has given support and information to us over the past few years. Especially this year as you all have helped us into the 2 club at Maxton. Our last run Saturday was 201.072 mph setting the APS/G-1000/4 record and getting us in the club. Thanks to Kevin Hunt for the KWS power that got us there. Have a safe and productive off season and we will see you all next season.
-
Congrats Greg, you deserve it, great job this weekend, and all year.

And a plus 1 on the thanks to the ECTA staff and volunteers; thanks for making it possible for us to have such a great time. It was a pleasure to see old friends and meet some new ones. Hope everyone has a good winter and holiday season, see y'all in April!

Charles i hope the reason for not running Sunday wasn't caused by too many helpings of liver mush for breakfast.
-
Greg, you did very well
Your 10 was right there in the hunt with jockeys on the BMW, glad you didn't jump ship just yet
-
Charles i hope the reason for not running Sunday wasn't caused by too many helpings of liver mush for breakfast.
I would never eat that nasty liver mush or liver pudding... we save all that for our Northern Buddies LOL
Charles
-
I've gotta say that neither Nancy nor I had ever heard of fried liver mush 'til we were offered some on the menu at Mac's Anytime Breakfast in Laurinburg. Upon our questions - the waitress kindly brought a sample to us. We each tried a bite. . .and then ordered bacon and eggs or oatmeal - but not fried liver mush. One taste was enough.
-
Bunch of woosie Yankees! (I haven't tried it yet - but I will). Liver mush and liver pudding seem to be two different things. More culinary experimentation needed.
Dan
-
You do the experimenting, Dan, and we'll watch.
-
Either of them Liver pate's Southern Wanna Be's are nasty..
Yousse guys have at it...

Just take the grits out and replace it with corn meal and you have one of the Penn/Jersey's greatest secrets next to Taylor Ham (pork roll)-- Scrapple! Two eggs over, a nice slice of fried scrapple and a side of Taylor Ham -----TO DIE FOR! Just ask Joe Timney.
John
-
Liver mush ... had it in the army a couple of times ... tasted worse each time ... I would prefer fried snake subaru to it ...
Joe
-
John mentioned grits. That's a Southern delight I have tried - and y'all can have my share. ME says it's a butter delivery system but I'll take my butter straight, thank you.
Dan

Dan
Dan,
You gotta chop up some fried eggs (overeasy) into your grits.
-
Of course we southerners will fry anything and nobody thinks it could be good when I mention it, but try fried fish w/ scrambled eggs. But then I love fried liver pudding. I was watching coverage of a custom car show earlier this year and one vender was selling (this just goes way too far)-fried butter.
-
That doesn't sound bad at all. Just leave the grits on YOUR plate! And I'll definitely try fried liver pudding and/or liver mush some day. I LOVE liverwurst so I'm guessing I'll like this, too. Ah, Southern Ku-zeen!
Dan

Dan, I think it's Southern "cosine", not ku-zeen.

Slim -- don't take off on a tangent now.

I always thought that was the angle of the dangle.

Are y'all make fun of my cousin now?
-
Cousin, Hmm? Is that someone that you meet at a family reunion to get lucky?
-
If a racer and his sweetheart from Virginia, move to Tennessee and get married, then later move to Kentucky and get divorced, are they still brother & sister?

Not necessarily, they still could be father and daughter.

:? Or cousins!
-
Probly more than kissin' cousins . . .
-
f I remember correctly,,,,,,aint nothin wrong with that,,,,(unless your cousin is a guy,,,,,and so are you!)

This thread is going downhill rather quickly, how about we return to the original programming.
Any more result/pictures from Maxton in October 2010?
-
Four pages in a picture thread and only one picture ??
:-P

Did anyone take any photos?

Well here's some pictures. Not exactly of the racing but more of the "trying hard to get to go racing" type. I told the story in the Nitrous 250cc Shootout thread. But here's 2 shots of Eric "Racer X" stripping his engine out of his Ninja 250 and then splitting the cases to check the transmission. He then had it back together and made 1 pass that afternoon!

"That's Not Fast"

"What's In Here?"
Not the exactly the kind of day Eric had planned.
-
Also here's a link to a 30 second Youtube video of my Honda 250cc from 2010 which includes going through the speedtrap on Nitrous last weekend to win the totally unofficial but fun Maxton Nitrous 250cc Shootout.

Eric (Racer X) of Dark Horse Racing was trying to make sure he finished in the top 10 in Bike points for the year. His Goal all year long was to do this. He was prepared to push the 250 Ninja to the line if he had to. But a true racer Eric is,, he pulled the motor, split the cases and put it all back together right there in his Van.
He did make a run and blew up.. But he was able to make that run and YES he did finish 10th in the points.
WAY TO GO ERIC.... if there was an award for perseverance or determination, I would cast my vote for Eric.
Good luck in the off season Eric,,, see you in April.
Charles
-
WTFG Eric, you rock.
-
Kinda hard to brag on a 218 speed when you 250 folks are going 60% as fast with 25% of the displacement, but I will anyway.

-
Dean, 218mph on 1000cc Nitrous? You go right ahead and brag buddy!! Great job. I have now seen firsthand the amount of complexity the nitrous can add to the speed equation. But I also have experienced the feel of the nitrous coming on when the system works. Wow. May be hard to go back to gas class.
-
Some pics...had a blast running the 250 and Roy's big ZX-14, picking up a couple records in the process

Ali- great rides. Every thing Roy brings is fast, but I bet your Dad likes the 250 best.
-
LOL yeah, he's all about the slower the better. We're quite opposite that way. :-D
He saw the 250 getting ready, I told him I'm taking it in its stock form....20 hours later I was still at the shop and he was wondering why I still hadn't left :-D

Does anyone know how the Ducati Monster did? I don't think I have a pic with the number he ran so figured I'ld ask here before deciphering the logs. Thanks. Also any pictures of me on my duc, yellow helmet is a giveaway, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Milt, post some pics of your new Duc.
How did the Duc run ?

For those of you that didn't notice, let me point out how kind Charles is. He put the landracing.com website logo on his trailer. Thank you -- and thanks to all of the rest of you that do what you do to spread the word about this site.
Also notice, by the way, that Charles chocked the trailer wheels before off-loading. Good habit to have.
