Thanks, Joe.  Now I can formulate the rest of my life around the schedule.  That's actually true - visits to the Grandkids, etc. have to fit around the ECTA meets.

Jon, can you set up a calendar on the cover now that we have most of the major dates for 2011

Yes.

Okay, enough of the smarty-pants responses.  I'se planning on doing what you suggest, Glen, although I'm debating if I should wait a while so we don't get racers confused over which year they're seeing.  Never underestimate the ability of folks to mis-interpret what they see.

Anyway - now that the (majority of) dates are released - I'll get the 2011 calendar started.

Crap. Looks like if I want to celebrate Mom's birthday, she is going to have to come down with me again. See y'all in May.

I'm keeping my head above water- barely. Holding on to a b-bc in most of my classes. I am think of switching from mechanical engineering to mathematics to make my class schedule more workable for the next four years. But, I am loving the weather, the environment, and all the stuff I have been getting to learn. I just miss having stuff to work on. So right now I am looking for a carb to rebuild for the Escort.

P.S. - Check is finally in the mail for the shirts.

Thanks Joe,

That helps our Blue Bird group set our dates for our Myrtle Beach Rally and also where we are this week at Pine Mountain, GA. to run the weekend before or after the April and October Maxton races. We will have a small group come to Maxton after this weeks rally in Pine Mountain, GA and we will again be working the Speed Results Blackboard Display near short shutdown as we have done in the past.

The board displaying speed is a really good addition for the competitors. It does take some concentration and dedication from the Blue Bird group and I know the racers appreciate it.

It is a great thing and definitely part of running at Maxton!!

I'll second the going thought -- that IO appreciate the billboard showing run speed.  Many's the time I've wondered if a pass, which seemed pretty good, was fast enough to head to impound, and with the billboard I know for sure (usually not fast enough :-D).

The Blue Bird folks are always a treat and in the best position to post speeds. Flipper frequently brings a wipe board to short but over half (it seems) the bikes and many of the cars go long, plus their board is bigger. Sometimes those of us in shutdown benefit from Saturday night leftovers--Thanks Thanks
Mark, are you going to make back down this meet?

Handling the Speeds Display Board has really added a lot to our groups enjoyment and also it gives a lot of them a feeling of being a part off the whole Maxton experience, they especially enjoy some of the reactions both excited and disappointed ones from the competitors and they go back home talking about it and sometimes discussing their experience at the track on our forum at http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.com/forums/ (http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.com/forums/)

We would all like to see the rest of you folks come down into our parking area, these Blue Bird folks like to talk about and show off their coaches and most of them that belong to our group "Wanderlodge Owners Group" are gearheads and maintain their own 'Birds as we like to call them and we are constantly bringing new members to Maxton for the races, that is why we schedule our two big rallies here on the east coast, 'Birds At The Beach in Myrtle Beach and RATS (Rally across The Street) where we are now in Pine Mountain, GA to coincide with the first and last races it also gives them more bang for their fuel bucks to spend more time together, as some of them drive a long ways to attend these get togethers, some from western Canada and the west coast of the USA  and others from throughout the country. Not everybody that attends our rallies shows up at Maxton, as we have over 100 'Birds here this week and I believe that the largest turnout we have had at Maxton was 38, we never really know how many will show up at Maxton, we just don't like to be that organized.

So please drop by and say Hi if you have time, we'd sure like to meet you and there may also be a good possibility that there still may be some leftovers on the table, as we really know how to eat good and that happens both Friday and Saturday night, but Thursday night as a group we hit the Golden Trough in Laurinburg.
