Title: Ed Kowalski has died
Post by: Seldom Seen Slim on September 01, 2010, 06:44:13 PM
J Kowalski this morning -- announcing the death of his father, Ed.  Nancy and I knew the Kowalski racing family a little bit, having sold them an entry at Bonneville a few years back.  E J has always found time to visit us in the pits during subsequent events, just like most every racer that you or I know.  That's just common land speed racing courtesy, and the Kowalski family personified that.  Here's the note that E J sent, complete with a link to the obituary:

Hello Jon, E.J. Kowalski from PA contacting you regarding the passing of my dad Ed Kowalski on Aug.25 2010. We had just returned from Bonneville where  we set a record in XF/FR at 163.553 mph after 22 years of trying in many different classes. We always checkout landracing.com for info. We purchased some entries from you and Nancy in the past. Thank you for the help. He passed with no pain relaxing at home and with his landracing.com shirt on. I'm not a very good post writer but maybe I can get someone to post it for me. We love to go to Bonneville to see our extended family and see more old friends we just met.
