Hi there, I was reading about you Canyon pu and your goal of runnin at WOS. Did I read that right that it has a 4 cyld? In 2003 my V8  S-10 pick up was the first to make the 130 mph club with a speed of 133.8. It is a 350 sbc powered rig with a fully modified 700r4 with a 3500stall converter. It runs hi 12's at 105 in the quarter. My the way it is all wheel drive made possible by a Cyclone transfer case. My friend Gary Garten was the second truck to make the club with his 2002 Ford Lightning supercharged p.u. His first year to run it was 2002 and it was stock and ran 116mph. In 2003 he spent some $ on mods that included cat back ex. and superchanger pulleys to up boost a computer mod and a set of 28" Goodyear front runners and moon discs. This increased the speed to 124mph. I helped him cover the grill and wipes with some cardboard and duct tape and that got him into the club. Traction and 7500ft. corrected alt. make it hard to go fast in only a mile. Be careful of the old "salt fever" it got me.

Thanks for your insight. I don't think that I've set my expectations too high. I know my truck pretty well and with the mods that I have planned for it I think my target of 115 mph is pretty close to what it will be capable of by the time I'm done.

I'm using this as a learning experience to see whether or not I want to continue to shoot for the 130 club target or put all the necessary safety equipment and performance stuff into it in order to run in one of the mini-pickup classes.

As far as the salt fever goes I know that I've already got that given the number of videos that I keep watching!
