Title: Production bike documentation
Post by: Bill Fulmer on March 30, 2010, 08:09:25 PM
In the rules for Production class entries it states you must have manufacturers documentation for that specific entry if you are attempting a record run. What kind of documentation is required and or acceptable?  Thanks  Bill

Documentation is usually only required for unique models or of foreign manufacture. A factory shop manual would probably be the first choice followed by a sales brochure. Hope this helps.   Larry

I've used factory sales literature as well as the shop manual.  The literature usually has the best photographs -- and inspectors need these to be able to compare things like exhaust outlets and stuff that isn't necessarily listed in the manual.

Magazine articles on the specific model are also very helpful.

Thanks,I was afraid you would need something from the manufacturer saying what the production totals were.  Bill
